Opinions wanted! Which way round would you wear these?

I am in the process of converting clips to posts on my vintage earrings so that I can actually wear them.
These ones have clips so that you’d have the pointy bit facing upwards which I think is a bit weird.
Which way round would you wear them?

But if you are putting a ‘post’ on the back, can you not just swivel them around and wear them either way?

If I put the post in the middle, yes, but I wouldn't want them swivelling around at will so I'd want to put it at either end.

I watched a youtube video which convinced me that this made sense, even though a part of me is screaming NO NO NO THEY'RE VINTAGE but what's the point of having them when I never, ever wear clip ons? Also, "vintage" = "secondhand tat" really :D

I am cutting the clips off with plier cutter things (hope that's not too technical for you Biscuit :D ) from my jewellery repair kit. A while ago I replaced a whole load of open earring hoops with closed (french) ones because I never wore the open ones as they kept getting caught in my hair iyswim. I learnt how to properly open and close the joining rings too, which was really useful!

I've now bought a load of posts and backs, and some E6000 glue (which is what all the tutorials I found recommend). I know that I should probably be welding them on but I just want to be able to wear them, and tbh most of them aren't really worth much, they're just pretty, old costume jewellery.

I've also got a load of brooches I never wear which I am going to convert to hair clips ie cut off the pin and stick hair slide/clip on the back. I'm planning on doing the same with some old cufflinks that I have picked up too, as nobody I know wears cufflinks and some of them really are very pretty and would make good earrings or hair clips!
