Shampoo bars for hard water

Has anyone had any joy finding a shampoo bar which works with hard water? I'm using one with an apple cider vinegar rinse but have to use SO much rinse (and hair still feels sticky) I'm losing conviction that it's using less plastic!

I'm in Cambridgeshire so about as hard as it gets water wise. I'm going to give up and go back to normal shampoo otherwise!

TIA Smile

I find the peppermint bar from Pure Nuff Stuff doesn’t leave that sticky residue. I’m in Cambs too.

I've been struggling with the residue issue too, although I'm not in a hard water area - I tried bars from two different brands. I've just bought a bar and rinse from Conchus and I feel like I've got my old hair back! I'm wondering if it's the rinse that's made the difference, it has lemon juice in rather than acv, anyway I'm sticking with it because I'm well chuffed! I'm sorry I don't know how to post a link in the app but if you Google Conchus haircare you'll find it.

Thanks both, might give the pure nuff stuff (avoiding autocorrect muff issues Grin) and see what that's like... you've not found it too drying?

Like the idea of a lemon not acv rinse, I feel like I long of vinegar the whole time which isn't helping! Might have to investigate!

I've had this issue and caved in, going back to my normal shampoo/conditioner

I became conscious of the amount of water I was using to rinse and buying other products to offset the bar

I have predictable hair again now!

Chish yup, completely see where you're coming from. If I end needed equivalent numbers of bottles of rinse (plastic) and way more water the net benefit doesn't work out does it?

I've just ordered a PNS bar and a conchus rinse, if they don't do the job I'm back on bottle shampoo I think!

Good luck! I don’t find the pns bar drying and I don’t bother with a vinegar rinse. I do have a bottle of their conditioner but only use a tiny bit every other wash - and I used to have dry hair. Only downside is they don’t do a conditioner bar.

I know this is an old thread but I've used amicasoap.co.uk for ages now and always enjoyed their products, but they do a new shampoo bar now for hard water which is a syndet type bar but made with SCI & SLSA (NOT SLS), both ingredients are from coconuts and their prices are very good, I've recommended amicasoap a few times now purely because they are the only supplier I've came across who actually CARE about me as a customer and reply almost straight away to any queries I've ever had :)
