Lipcote

I bought Lipcote recently to try and get me back into using lipstick but instead of my lipstick rubbing off, it now flakes off with this stuff which is even worse!

I'm following the instructions. Has anyone got any tips? Does it only work with certain types of lipstick? Is there a better alternative?

For the record, I've also tried two lip 'stain' type products a year or two ago in a similar effort to get back to lipstick, with a colour at one end and gloss or lip balm at the other. The one with the balm (can't remember the brand) also flaked off. I stopped using the gloss one as I just hate lip gloss!

I just want something I can put on and forget about the whole day. Any advice? Or does it not exist?

I find liquids last much longer, but are mostly matte. Try the Sleek matte me range. They are £5 or so, so not going to be an expensive mistake

Oh Lipcote , blast from the past, I used to use it years ago (stings like Billy-o) . It never worked on a gloss , only a matte or a regular one if you do the apply-blot-apply-blot thing.

I did have a liner pen type lippie ( can't remember what brand , possibly Barbara Daly or Bodyshop ) that I used as a base all over then the lipstick on top. It did not shift at all .

I don't wear lipstick now .
I know DD uses KatvonD , the liquid lipgels (they said they don't need a liner because they don't bleed) they are pretty stay-put Grin

Thank you - don't know why the Lipcote wasn't working on me as it wasn't on top of a gloss.

I might try the Sleek Matte one. Will report back with what I end up with!
