Mumsnetters' top picks from ASOS

Hi folks,

A swift glance at the Style & Beauty boards reveals ASOS’s popularity with MNers (where else can you get unlimited next-day delivery all year for a tenner?), but we wanted to know about Mumsnetters’ best ever ASOS purchases and pool the collective wisdom of our in-house style mavens.

So, whether it’s the perfect plain white tee or a party dress you can breastfeed in, we asked Mumsnetters to share their ASOS wardrobe staples and offered the chance to win a £50 voucher for their trouble. You can take a look at their top picks below and contribute your two cents if you like (though the competition is now closed).

This thread isn’t sponsored by ASOS, but we might use it to give us a steer on future content.

Update: we might add a link into your post if we think it would be helpful.

Mumsnet carries some affiliate marketing links, so if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale (more details here).

I love asos. Being a mum of two toddlers I can't face real life shopping so asos is perfect. The catwalk videos are so handy and the part where it states the model height and size is so useful.

My best buys have been the Ridley High Waist Skinny jeans. Have them in multiple colours. Wash and dry well and can cope with all the climbing around and crawling about that is required with a young family.

I have purchased most of my maternity wardrobe from ASOS during this pregnancy. I have found it to be both comfortable and stylish. It’s one of the only reasonably priced companies that don’t sell drab old fashioned maternity clothes.

I love their maternity leggings, pencil skirts and striped t shirts.

I brought my wedding dress at asos
Fast delivery and reliable fits. I love the petite range!

I'm wearing my ASOS purchase of the season actually, black crepe cropped dungarees. Bloody love them. I like the Curve range, a lot - it is nice to see a variety of shapes wearing the clothes.
I would say though to filter like mad otherwise you're searching for days. Well maybe not days but yeah, you could get lost in there.

I love ASOS and have used it for as long as i can remember. I pay for the annual delivery subscription as i love their next day delivery service, the fact it covers weekends and how easy it is to return.

It is my go to place for my own outfits and for gifts for friends. They often have things on there that you can't find on the highstreet. I got my friend a fab happy beyday beyonce birthday card which we both completely loved.

My best investment has probably been a multi pack of scoop back tops. Very plain and basic but just had that little something extra to make them feel special. I lived in those for a long time!

Also love ASOS own brand clothes the best and their jewellery and accessorie range. The videos of models modelling the stuff help when making a purchase.

We quickly moved 10 days before Christmas, and my husband took care of most of it while I was at work, being 6months pregnant I couldnt wait to come home and throw on my comfies to find out my husband had accidentally thrown all my clothes, shoes, coats, underwear and left me with bags full of the rubbish meant for the skip! (Rushed move so everything went in black bags) skip was empty by the time we had noticed and gone back. ASOS was a lifesaver, unlimited next day delivery with DPD so let you chose your time slot, maternity range is awesome, had all my maternity clothes from there and were all an amazing fit especially the Ridley jeans! Husband made up for it and I had a whole new updated wardrobe just before Xmas Grin I've just renewed my delivery again for this year, wouldn't be without it!

It's the only place where I feel like the Tall range is made for actual tall all over people and isn't just the regular range with a couple of inches on the hem. I have a long body and it's just great knowing things will fit. Shopping in most shops is a nightmare.

So now I can wear dungarees again! I'm never happier than when I'm in my dungarees, a headscarf and red lippy Smile

I love ASOS.
Their Curve range is the best place to find plus size clothes. My favourite buy this summer has been this dress, which I've worn loads.
I love the premier delivery and the free returns service. The delivery bags are reusable and resealable, which is great.

My teenage DC also love the site and the range of brands.

Love the petite range! Most shops have loads of clothes and then a few petite items which often feel like an afterthought. Asos is one of the few companies where petite women get a genuinely wide range of clothes to choose from and we don't get treated like second class customers.

Love ASOS is our house... I'm 45 and buy the curve range, Dd2 is a big fan of the petite range.
We buy everything from clothes to shoes, to accessories.

I like that the fit of their clothing. I’m very petite and struggle at times to buy clothes. And the accessories are gorgeous. Something for every style.
This is the last thing I got from there for my hen do.

I love the fact I don't have to drag my 14 year old DS round the shops any more, and he loves the ASOS brand muscle fit tshirts- which are really good value- Bonus!

For myself I like the wide fit shoes and the Curve Range

I love ASOS and get most of my clothes from there, particularly maternity stuff. In particular I like the fact that they have a decent tall range and good sales/discounts all year round. But the absolute best thing for me is that they do free delivery and returns to Dubai.

Working hard to getting my level vvip here! Asos is one of my favourite websites/apps to just browse and browse on because the selection is so vast! My top buy of this year was a maternity wedding guest outfit dress after having had a meltdown in a department store fitting room because of the lack of choice/style! My best buy of last year was my entire holiday wardrobe and the year before that my wedding shoes... I could keep going but this is already too fanboi a post!!

I bought my wedding lingerie from asos, two thirds cheaper than the equivalent at John Lewis, AND with proper pants that won't go up the crack of my arse.

ASOS is the first place I look for everything fashion-wise. I love the next day delivery and the A-List loyalty scheme. If I have the choice of buying a branded dress directly from the brand, or from ASOS, I always order fromASOS - and will check to see whether they stock a particular branded item before ordering from the brand.

I'm wearing a gorgeous black floral midi blouse dress today that was a steal - it was already in the sale, and I used an A-List voucher, bringing the total to £7.00. I get compliments every time I wear it, and have worn it often - to a festival dressed down with converse, to a spa with a pair of strappy Dune flat sandals and to a fancy restaurant with heels and a loose blazer. When the weather changes I will continue to wear it with a leather jacket and boots, or with a sweater and flats.

My wishlist is always huge and I check "new in" a few times a week. I've got my eye on a black scoop neck maxi with tortoiseshell buttons at the minute so a £50 would be very welcome 😉

I just bought some avocado related PJs from their adolescent clothing range (to be honest the rest of the collection was not great, but what would be great is someone making some decent clothing for the 12-16 age range).

I love ASOS. My best ever purchase has actually been a plain black batwing t shirt that just gives so much and asks so little Grin

Their app is amazing; the search facility is great. I like the info on the height of the model and what size she is wearing.

I would, however, like to see less polyester. But I guess that's par for the course at this price point.

Another fan here. Fantastic petite range and love that it's modelled by actual short women, their jeans are fab. Appreciate the funny comments in the descriptions. Shame they aren't selling silk any more though, my best buy this year so far was a Hugo Boss silk shirt.

I bought my second dress to wear on my wedding day from ASOS. It's a peplum white lace style over a nude lining and I felt absolutely fab in it on our big day. Love it!

I love ASOS, it’s my absolute go to for almost every everything. I’m tall (5’10) and always rely on them for trousers. My buy-forevers are the Rivington high waisted stretchy jeans, I hardly ever wear anything else.

Currently pregnant and have bought most of my maternity wardrobe on there too!
