Micro blading is this a disaster or not? (picture included)

So I went to get my eyebrows microbladed yesterday, after months of deliberation.
I was very clear that I wanted my eyebrows evened up as they were oddly shaped, and filled in ... I was very clear I didn't want really thick sluggy eyebrows.
I'm absolutely horrified by my eyebrows now, a day later and I want to cry! I feel ridiculous! they're so dark and they appear waaaaay too thick for my face - this is not what I wanted at all!!
Please can someone tell me they will go down and look normal again?! Has someone done a horrendous job on me or not.. been staring at them in the mirror for so long I really can't even tell any more.
The artist who did them was very experienced and apparently one of the best in the area!!
Please note I've got layers and layers Vasoline on them hence why they look so shiny in the future

They look a little thick to me but I do tend to prefer a slimmer brow, re the darkness I have heard that is normal and will fade shortly.

They're going to go down. They're a beautiful shape and I don't think they're too thick!

They look fine.

This was them before, for comparison. I'm hoping they don't look too ridiculous and that I'll just get used to them it's just really not the sort of style I would go for I'm I'm worried I'm a bit clown like..

Why on earth did you mess with them? They were beautiful!

That said, I've seen a lot of microbladed brows which calmed down A LOT, so you shouldn't panic yet.

It's hard to tell from the pic but I suspect that there is a lot of excess colour on your skin which will soon fade.

I haven’t got the guts to go
Microblading but after every tint and shape I’m convinced I look a surprised Clown. You will get used to a bolder shape and colour and it will calm down. I think they look really good by the way.

They look nice! I would agree they are a tad severe at the minute but they will calm down pretty soon.
The shape is good and I actually prefer them to the before picture. I need mine doing too but I'm just too scared!

I don't think they're half as bad as you think they are.

Maybe you are just a bit surprised at the different look?

You will need to wear eye makeup until they fade a bit. You have beautiful eyes that can take all the added drama.

(Also, maybe wear your hair down for balance).

I think they look amazing, and I generally dislike the thick eyebrow craze.

I’ve booked this for the end of the month. Everyone, including the practioner has warned me that it will look hideous and overdone for the first few days. Apparently if you are patient and let them heal they will be perfect in a few days time.

I hope this is true for you OP. Send us some photos soon.

Thanks everyone for your replies, I feel much better now. I will need to just trust that they will calm down a bit over the next few days!!

I will update a pic every few days for those who'd like to see the healing/ fading process.
Really hope they will settle down soon as I have work tomorrow and lots of meetings :(
Will play about with some different make up as well to try and complement the catipillars!

They look fab Smile. When I first had mine I was so upset because they looked huge! But over the first two weeks they settled down, then I had my top up and after that they were perfect. I need to get them done again.

I thought microblading was like roller skating, with smaller wheels.Confused

I prefer them to the before photo. I think they frame and bring out your eyes really well. Like you, I'm not a fan of slug-like brows. Yours don't fall into that category at all.
I think you'll love them in a few weeks.

You had more than decent eyebrows that could have been even better with just dyeing them. I don't agree to the microblending procedure because it's the exact same shit as a tattoo (tattoo pigments) and will either turn blue or red in the following years. Also, the shape seems rough. I hope it will fade and look good. Best of luck, Op.

They look fine. It does feel weird the first 7 days and it's normal to be anxious. I had my eyebrows done the same way But it does fade and looks natural in the end. Just remember not to touch it or peep it or else you'll remove some of the ink with it.

They look good! I’d love to have thick eyebrows like yours.
They really make your eyes stand out.

I’ve seen microblading calm down a lot after the first week or two in friends thatvhave had it done, so they should be looking lighter at least quite soon.

However, your natural eyebrows are perfect! Obviously it’s your face to do what you want with but I wouldn’t mess with them again. I don’t think microbladed brows ever look nice anyway, but when your brows are as nice as yours naturally then there’s definitely no need to get that done.

I had mine done a few months back and felt the same. You have to wait between 7 and 10 days for the ink to scan off. Then you are left with something much more subtle. Then you go for the touch up and once again you think AAAAAAAAH!!!!!!’ What have i done?!!!! Then it scans off abd once again looks great 🤪

I've no idea what microblading is, but in your first picture your eyebrows do look slightly enhanced (ie not entirely natural) but they don't look awful or overdone imo. They're fine.

Don't panic! I had mine done last year and felt like a freak for the first week! Trust me in about 10 days you'll be panicking that they're too light and maybe not thick enough! Follow the care instructions and suck up this first week. It feels like a long week but you'll soon see the benefits and that filled in look is just wear the ink has held out and will come away leaving natural hair strokes. You just need a bit of time. I'm going back for more this year but going to have it done during my week off work haha!

Report
slowrun · 01/08/2018 07:55

Maybe if you rub a bit of lighter toned brow powder over them until they calm down they won't look quite so bold?
