What is everyone finding good and what does everyone need? This prolonged spell of nice weather has exposed major gaps in my summer wardrobe, I don’t think I got out of opaques for work last year, in fact, I don’t think we’ve had a decent summer since I had children.

I’m currently loving my lotta clogs and my green “que sera” tshirt from hush but in need of more casual shirts and some smartish summer work tops.

& I need a dress for Henley Regatta. Might start a separate thread but it's a tad niche.

What shape are you, taybert? I love that flowery pencil skirts are in. I wear them with sleeveless T shirts/vests and kitten-heeled mules or sandals.

I’m a pear shape (ex hourglass- damn children!) so maybe a floral pattern on the bottom half will be a bit much. Show me anyway though!

I wish we were sharing the prolonged spell of nice weather up here in the North East! Apart from one or two days is been pretty crap.. misty, cold and over cast.
I'm feeling good this summer though clothes wise.. I usually hate summer dressing but I've discovered a great, natural looking gradual tan that doesn't look orange or go patchy so I've been wearing shorts for the first time in years (Boden ones). I've also been wearing classic white tees with a v neckline with light denim boyfriend jeans and birkenstocks or satin superga and actually feel quite effortlessly put together for once!
I've got the green Que Sera t shirt as well, goes great with my navy shorts.
I would like to find a nice white summery dress that's not too fussy or expensive.

Ellapaella - would you mind sharing which gradual tan you've been using? Thanks

@Shufflebumnessie of course - it's the Bondi Sands gradual tanner in the pink bottle. It's very natural but gives a lovely golden colour which lasts at least 4 days and doesn't go patchy when you shower etc.

That tan sounds tempting ella though I abandoned tanning a few years ago due to the faf and obviously fake nature on me. Maybe I might try again. Have you got the hush boyfriend jeans? I got uniqlo ones but they go really baggy by the end of the day. Where are you getting your t-shirts?

Unlucky with the weather, we’re in North Yorkshire so not too far but it has been lovely!

Taybert I'll have a go , but I'm a bit hit & miss when posting links: sometimes it works, sometimes not...

@taybert yes I have the star frayed boyfriend jeans from Hush. One of my best buys this summer. They look really good with just a plain white t shirt, simple earrings and necklace and sandals.

I have two really nice white t shirts from last summer, Boden and Topshop. Have the green and be that you have from Hush and got the pink stellar star tee that I also love.

I tried the hush ones last year but found them really narrow in the leg- they were a pale wash that I haven't seen them doing this year and the reviews last year said that colour was smaller fitting. How do you find them? I have generous thighs! (Though only a size 10 waist so can be difficult). The hush t shirts are the ones I've been liking the look of most but always feel they're just a bit too expensive for what they are. That said the green one is doing well so far.

These are the star frayed boyfriend jeans Taybert. They aren’t such a generous fit as the original boyfriend style. I’m a size 10 in most high street stores and these are a 10. They aren’t tight at all on the waist. I agree the tshirts are a bit overpriced and I only have two -I do wear them a lot though.

And may I say that is not the Bondi Sands fake tan I have on there! Grinthe orange feet in that photo are due to a disaster with Cocoa Brown fake tan! Needless to say I won't be buying that again!!! Photo was taken a few months ago.

I really like a couple of skirts on hush but they’ve all sold out. Suggestions for floaty midi skirts welcome.

Love my new Boden Antonia (orange) wrap dress - only recently got it and already wearing it to everything.
m.boden.co.uk/en-gb/womens-dresses/smart-day-dresses/w0162/womens-antonia-wrap-dress

That was the major gap in my wardrobe (apart from a swimsuit, which I also got from Boden) I think I have everything else I need. m.boden.co.uk/en-gb/womens-swimwear/swimsuits/s0025/womens-maratea-swimsuit

Ooh, apart from some good quality, wide scoop neck white t-shirts. Does anyone have any suggestions?

ps I swear Boden is not sponsoring me to do this post!

I'm wearing my cropped Harems from Boden on repeat at the moment. Need to start thinking about proper summer clothes though, we're taking the kids (10, 9 and 6) to France this year for their first foreign holiday. Looking for pretty cotton dresses for me and shorts all round!

Ella- I love your things. Really effortless looking but so lovely. Must try that tan. My skinny tan gradual isn’t great so far and not cheap either.
Clothes I am loving so far are my girlfriend jeans in grey from Tu with vests - they’ve felt cooler than skinny jeans. I still need some decent sandals though!

Bought a LOT of new summer clothes as none of my old ones fitted as I've gone down from somewhere between 14 - 16 compared to size 20.. Sadly, I'm still apple in shape but a rather less circular one. Still testing various looks, and trying to find straight-legged trousers/crops which go round my waist but then aren't too baggy on the thighs. Really enjoying various Uniqlo shirts in cotton or linen worn over said trousers, and am wearing Boden t-shirts which I really like for their slightly longer length.

I got these sandals after a recommendation on another thread. They are really comfy and I'm very happy with them.

I cover up in the summer for both vanity and health reasons and I wear a lot of silk shirts. Admittedly I no longer have small children to think about but I like them because they keep me cool and feel fabulous. I mostly wear them with cropped trousers / widelegs / culottes / whatever. I like them slightly oversized and only buy second hand as I treat them badly. The biggest downside is remembering to iron them at just the right moment.

@MsHippo we don't usually go into an enclosure (cheapskate in name, cheapskate by nature!). Our friends have a flat & boat there, so for the last few years we've joined them on the last Sunday of the regatta. We walk up & down the towpath, chug up and down the river, with food, drink & music, then go for a curry in the evening. So, no dress codes to worry about, but I like to look smart, as do DSs' girlfriends, so I have to keep up! Need something that will allow me to get in & out of the boat though. I've seen wide-legged trouser suits which look smart, but suspect you need long legs or high heels to look good in them.
