I'm on a teeny budget, after a recent pregnancy loss and coming to terms with not trying again I've been improving my personal grooming as its making me feel better.

I've gone from wash face with soap and brush hair, to lidl face wash, simple toner, lidl day cream and then at night same again but with night cream. Some fake tan (st moritz dupe stuff) and having my hair trimmed for free at local college. So not glitzy or anything. Just not the bloated snivelling uncared for mess I'd become.

Are they any good eye creams that work on a super low budget? I have puffy wrinkled eyes and they're aging me.

Try the ordinary caffeine soloution. It really works at tightening the skin. I look much more awake now.

You only need a small drop for both eyes and I reckon the bottle will last me a year.

It’s £7.

Superdrug's own skin care ranges, B, Vitamin E, Simply Pure (?) or Optimum are great and often on half price offer.

The ordinary do a 30% Glycolic acid peel too, I use it once a week and put it on my under eye area.

I still get asked for Id at 41. The downside is people think Dh is my dad.

OP I don't have an eye cream recommendation and others have given you some suggestions of good products to try.

I want to say I'm really sorry for your loss. You seem very brave in facing the future. Well done for taking care of yourself and doing the little things that make a huge difference to how you feel about yourself. I wish you well for the future. Big hugs. Xx

Sorry you have been having a difficult time.

I like boots own sensitive eye cream, its usually about £2 and is great.

I agree with the recommendations for Superdrug's own brands. The Body Shop do good ones too but pricier.

Thanks. Might be snivelling again but I'll have younger eyes. Mad what gets you through it.

I know it's not the same Op but my friend is going through a horrible divorce and she's relaying on skin care and make up to get her through it.

Skin care and make up are great to pep you up, and don't cost the earth. Little luxuries can really boost the way you feel.

There's a reason lippy wasn't rationed in the war!

I like Waitrose pure range eye cream. Though I might try the ordinary one.

I love Avon upper eye gel/lower eye cream in one pot. It's on offer regularly at £10 (usually £20) and a pot lasts me up to 3 months. It really works, imo.

I swear by Boots Botanics range: the day cream has SPF 15 and smells gorgeous, as does the night cream, and it's 3 for 2 at the moment so you may as well treat yourself to a free face mask or eye balm - it definitely sounds like you deserve it!

Hi Op
I'm sorry for your loss. I completely understand how you must feel and my way if coping was to slap on the creams and make up, if I looked better on the outside it helped. Anyway, I'd recommend all the Aldi skin care range it's cheap and good, also Superdrug has an affordable range which I've used too. Have you tried slices of cucumber or cold tea bags in your eyes? Give it a go, have a lie down for a while. Another thing to try is tinting your eyebrows, you can buy a kit from a few pounds in Bodycare or Savers, and it'll spruce your brows up, like a mini face lift I find. I hope you start to feel better soon Flowers
