Too old for this?

Hi. I'm wondering if I'm too old to wear this dress? https://www.lulus.com/products/seaport-mustard-yellow-tie-front-dress/599702
I'm 34. 5'4". I'm pretty fit and look young for my age. I don't have any girly girl friends so I have no idea how to dress when it comes to girly clothes. I usually just buy what I like and don't worry about it, but as I get older I start worrying about these things... 😊

Not too old but that is pretty grim and would look good on no one.

Awful dress. Looks good in theory because the model is beautiful but in real life on an actual person?

No. Just no.

I actually own it and its adorable on. The people who reviewed it all thought so too... Just wasn't sure if I was too old.

I would expect that sort of dress (style & fabric) to be worn by 18-24 year olds. However if you like it then go ahead.

You are too old.

coffeecoffeemorecoffee Thu 26-Apr-18 06:38:22

I love it!! You're not too old..

Starryskiesinthesky Thu 26-Apr-18 06:41:55

I thought it looked nice and if it looks good and you feel good then youre not too old. Unless you plan to wear it to work!

MelanieCheeks Thu 26-Apr-18 06:42:24

Where would you wear it? I think exposed midriff isn't appropriate in an office, but a weekend lunch at a beach cafe it could look ok.

paradyning Thu 26-Apr-18 07:04:39

On a beach over a bikini it would be appropriate. Anywhere else, not age appropriate imo

LoniceraJaponica Thu 26-Apr-18 07:08:05

It would look great on DD (she is 17)

Iputthescrewinthetuna Thu 26-Apr-18 07:15:49

I say wear it! I am not sure on colour but that is just personal taste.
I am 32, I would love to have the figure and no stretch marks (thanks kids!) to feel confident enough to wear it!!
Why shouldn't you wear it? I am sure you will look fab! smile

ScreenQueen Thu 26-Apr-18 07:20:11

If you've got a great figure then fine as beachwear, but otherwise i'd avoid. And I say that as someone who eeked out wearing hot pants on holiday until 35 wink

Jaimx86 Thu 26-Apr-18 07:20:59

I love it. Tempted to buy it in the blue and white stripe to wear in Mykonos. Don't think I'd wear it here unless there was a heat wave and I was near a nice beach resort. What's the shipping like?

BettyPitts Thu 26-Apr-18 07:21:29

I think the colour and cut makes it look cheap but it might be better in real life.

Age isn't the issue it's the design.

I haven't clicked on the link because it doesn't matter what it is. If you like it, then you're not too old to wear it. It's all subjective anyway. Some people will look at you and think you look awesome and some people might not notice you at all. The important thing is that you like it.

Looby4 Thu 26-Apr-18 07:23:26

It would look good on my 18 year old DD, but not in that colour!

OutComeTheWolves Thu 26-Apr-18 07:23:31

Ps I posted that pic of Baddie Winkle because I love her not because I think she's 34!

MeanTangerine Thu 26-Apr-18 07:24:10

Depends where you want to wear it. OK for a night out.

justanotheruser18 Thu 26-Apr-18 07:30:30

Defo not too old. It's lovely.

BIWI Thu 26-Apr-18 07:33:19

Does it fit you?
Do you like it?
Then wear it.

Sod your age.

DragonsAndCakes Thu 26-Apr-18 07:34:58

It’s cute. You’re not too old. smile

EnidButton Thu 26-Apr-18 07:43:35

I usually just buy what I like and don't worry about it,

Carry on doing that.
You're not too old for the dress.

Kochicoo Thu 26-Apr-18 08:42:50

Agree with other pp that I would expect to see that on 18 year olds on holiday cause it looks v cheap and er, cheerful holiday/beach type wear (appreciate it may well look far better irl) but you can and should absolutely wear whatever you like!
