Emergency shopping help needed! 5 days till holiday, no clothes and I’m fat :-(

Help. Please! I am going away on Saturday, for a much-needed week in the sun. However, I basically have no clothes that fit me. I’ve not been well, had a horrible time and put a lot of weight on. I also can’t get to any shops and am panicking now realising that I have no time and am going to end up in Spain wearing jeans and a hoodie! I’ve been living in pyjamas/joggers and a few dresses that still fit, none of which are suitable for hot weather.

My usual wardrobe is size 12 tops/dresses and 12/14 trousers, and I think I’m a 14-16 now, I bought new work trousers last month from Tesco and they are a 16. Big boobs (usually 34G, which is tight at the moment so probably 36 now) and flabby belly rolls. Nothing is comfortable and I have no body confidence. Am short (5ft2) so being this overweight does look/feel very fat on me. I still have severe brain fog and cannot figure out what clothes I should get for summer.

I can spend some money on next-day delivery online or click & collect at a supermarket. Don’t mind throwing up to a few hundred quid at this. Can anyone help me put together a capsule wardrobe for sitting by the pool for a week? I just want to be comfortable, physically and emotionally! So I can rest and re-set and get better.

Are you comfortable having your legs out?

Go to a large Sainsbury’s
They have some pretty nice stuff and group it all together to make it easier to build a wardrobe
I wouldn’t normally say get everything from there but if you are in a rush it’s a good option to do it all quickly in one place

Penneys. Or Primark in the UK. You'd get loads of stuff with your budget.

Get on to ASOS. Some lovely shorts and culottes and loose shorts and vests in size 16 at the moment. Maybe throw in a midi or maxi dress/skirt too. Linen trousers too! Big order = free next day delivery and return what you don’t like.

I'd have a look at Asos. They do multiple ranges inc petite and curve and also swimwear and their next day delivery is great.

I'd look at loose light trousers, long or a line skirts, and loose tunic tops and vest tops, long shorts, swimwear.

Have a great holiday,

I know it isn't popular but I suggest Next online. Two pairs of bermuda or chino shorts, a few of their cotton tshirts or vest tops, one petite range maxi dress, two shape enhancer swimsuits and you're done.

Next have linen tunic dresses in about 12 different colourways and patterns. Definitely worth trying. They also have some cotton slub dresses, again worth having a look at. If you go for dresses, remember some anti-chub rub protection. Loose Ines trousers with tee shirts. Swimwear - still time to get something in your cup size on express delivery. Boden has 25% off just now and have some nice kaftan-y type things. Try not to panic and let it spoil your holiday. It's not a fashion show, you just need some weather appropriate stuff, then relax and feel better. Enjoy yourself!

I am under 5 foot with 32FF bust and I have to get swimwear that comes in cup sizes or it just doesnt fit properly. Brastop online is really good for discounted swimwear and delivery is pretty quick.

If you want to go for bikinis: try high waisted bottoms. Or if you want to go for swimming costumes, you can get some that are meant to ‘skulpt’ your body, I think M&S do some.

Maxi dresses, play suits or floaty trousers are good if you don’t want your legs out. You can slip on a maxi dress to go to the pool/beach and when you’re walking around.

I too vote sainsburys or adds ( they actually have a few nice summer items) also Primark or peacocks.
It's a week so you don't need too much, just some light floaty tops/dresses, swimming gear, comfortable shoes etc

Do you have a next account. Use there next day delivery and order lots, try it all on and send back what you don't need.

Invest in a decent shaping swimsuit or do plus some nice tailored shorts and some tops that are supportive.

Lots of body shapes on holiday especially at this time of year.
Relax, recover and just be glad to be well enough to go. Smile

I’m also going away for a week on Thursday I’ve already packed. I’ve packed light two beech playsuits to chuck on over bikini
Two pairs light trousers can be chilly In the evening in Lanzarote
Several tops and tshirts
Three shorts
1 dress
2 cotton cardigans
4 bikinis
Two pairs flip flops
I’m not taking lots as I know I hardly wear it for long on an evening.
Sainsbury’s as someone already mentioned has a few nice things in. M&S maybe for linen trousers if you like them. Don’t panic there’s a few days yet for you to shop next also have a selection of summer clothes arriving in stores as well as online for delivery

Legs out ok! They’re about the only bit of me that aren’t completely horrible.

Will have a browse at Next online this afternoon. Loose linen things sound good. There is a big Sainsbury’s near work too if I have any energy left in the evening.

Work computers are blocking all swimwear websites so will try and do that on my phone!

Honestly most of the battle is the brain work of deciding what to get. Oh for a personal shopper.

These camisoles from asda are great with shorts, very flattering IMO, as they aren't tight - and a bargain!

H&M usually have t-shirt type dresses in their basics range. I got a few for holidays. They are very useful for slinging on over a swimming costume or for sightseeing.
I second whoever said Brastop for cheaper, cup sized swimwear.

Another vote for Sainsbury's. Or Asda.

On holiday I basically just live in button up summer dresses like this: tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/Floral-Sun-Dress/133128323-MultiColoured

Or this: www.next.co.uk/g22232s6#189978

They're cool and comfortable to wear, they're easy to throw on (e.g. you don't have to worry about your tops and bottoms matching), they don't cling to my stomach (my worst bit), you can wear a cardigan on top if you're cold or want to cover your arms.

I'd also buy a pair of linen cropped trousers (Sainsbury's have plenty) and then look for some camis/t-shirts that are close fitting over your boobs and flare out a bit over your stomach.

I'm a G cup and I always buy my bikinis from Floozie at Debenhams. This one comes in 34 and 36G: www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_064020251060_-1
