Anyone pay for weekly blow dry?

I'm crap at drying my curly hair, always have been. Just wondering whether to get a regular professional blow dry. Does anyone do this? What do you pay? Do you wash your hair before you go?

15 a week round here. Up north. I've considered it too but in the end decided not to.

BBH + GHDs means I don't have to.

But it would be lovely if someone else were to do it for me.

Ooooh £15 a week would be a stretch. I'm up north too... think I'd do it for a tenner.

Thedowager - I have GHDs too but it still looks nowhere near as good as when someone else does it.

Loads of people I work with do. But I would find it a waste of money due to oily hair / needs daily washing

If your hair lasts - totally worth it to feel good everyday

North west here, my local one is £15 and I used to do this a lot. Worth every penny for me but money is tighter now so I find it hard to justify the expense.

I always watch them do it and then go home
and try myself and give up after 5 minutes.
It's all in the wrist action, the brush and the angle of the nozzle.
I get it all wrong!

If you can afford it op then I would consider it money well spent.

If I could get it for a tenner I would too, but 15 just pushed it too far for me!

I would love this but it's not available where I live in the mornings or on a Saturday after about 1pm (and I do sport on Saturday mornings). I guess I could go on a Monday after work and have crap home styled hair on Monday and good hair on the other days.

You could negotiate the price down if you wanted one weekly.

Zoflora im the same! Try really hard to watch and learn but after 30 years of trying I am ready to admit defeat. Going to ring round places tomorrow, see if I can find one to do it for a tenner.

How often do you wash your hair?

The curly girl method advocates not blow drying. Let your curls tumble free!

sorry not helpful at all

I pay around £12 a week here. I just can't get my hair to style the way my hairdresser can. I don't drink or smoke so it's my weekly treat. Also my highlights lasts longer this way.

My local expensive salon has an amazing junior who does 15 blow dries.

I've been partaking fortnightly at least

Sabina that sounds wonderful, I think I could stretch to £12. Does that include washing as well or do you turn up washed?

Have you got a decent hairdryer OP? Parlux or similar?

I do my own (for the last 15 years!) but I don't use a round brush like they do in the hairdresser- I can't really do that. I use a small vented brush and it works fine.

Hi OP that includes washing as well. Half an hour of "me time" worth every penny.😘

My Mum hasnt washed her own hair in years, she goes to the hairdresser twice a week for a wash & blow dry, I don’t know price but we are in London so it’ll be a lot more than a tenner!
If you can afford it and it will make you happy then do it Grin
