Help - I'm being filmed and feel old and ugly

I'm going to be filmed for a community thing next week. Costume is all sorted bit I'm panicking about my face. I'm mid 40s with quite coarse skin/ big pores/ acne scarring/ baggy under eyes: ie everything that will look terrible when my face is ten feet high on a screen.

I really don't want to cake on loads of makeup (tried that this morning and it was like Baby Jane cosplay) but is there anything I can buy on the high street that would help a little? I'm going to wearing full coverage but dewy foundation but would love to know if there are any primers/ powders/ potions that might enhance things (in a good way!)

For your pores I'd recommend the maybelline babyskin primer, or any that says it's "blurring" or "pore reducing". Are your under eye circles dark or just baggy? If they're dark I'd recommend the collection 2000 concealer, it's cheap and really good. I use a damp sponge to apply, gives a nicer finish than fingers, especially when bags are an issue.

Not sure about the nanoblur as i have never used it, but the Retinol reface is amazing, really tightens pores, so might be worth trying both

Oh wow, thank you for the Nanoblur recommendation- I will get some of that, it sounds great! I'm also drinking ALL the water this week and making sure I get some early nights.

DontCallMeCharlotte OMG, I did some googling after your recommendation for Nanoblur & after watching Caroline Hirons review I have just purchased Nanoblur & Retinol face. I’ve tried the Nanoblur already (in the car, couldn’t wait until home!!) & WOW Thank you, it’s bl**dy amazing stuff, def impressed on first use. Yet to try retinol face tonight though. 😀😀

I know you said you don't want to cake the make up on, but honestly, what looks like loads of make up in real life ends up looking like you've got nothing on, on screen. It's honestly amazing how much make up you need to wear when being filmed.

formerbabe You're right there! Just did some test shots and despite thinking my highlighter could dazzle the space station it actually looked 'natural' in the pics! I had a thick layer of foundation on and again, it didn't look ridiculous. I've also found out that my character will have a filter as it needs to appear 'magical' so that's a bonus!
