For me it’s
Molten Brown

Clarins. Too strongly scented and makes me itch.

Agree with Molten Brown, also L'Occitane shower gels and Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, Superdrug's own is far better for a fraction of the price.

Toatally agree with Molton Brown. The bottles look the part, but the contents are really nothing to write home about and do not feel expensive at all.

Benefit for me as well.

Benefit for me too and lately Sabon! I'm happier with Yves Rocher rather than Sabon!

Urban decay and Benefit. Both full crap that reminds me of Constance Carroll but in nicer packaging.

Lush. Can't even go in there without my hay fever being triggered!

Although not technically overpriced, The Ordinary is certainly overrated. Also the eleventy million things in tiny bottles you have to buy make it far from cheap. Pixi is another overrated brand.

Body Shop. I haven't bought anything from there since 1991 when I was a teen - I don't understand who does buy from there, as the stuff is so over-priced.

Lush, my 13 yo dad got caught in the hype and spent over £10 of her Christmas money on a small bottle of conditioner. It wasn’t particularly good, but in its favour doesn’t have any of the usual crap in it, parabens etc.

Creme de la Mer. It's all marketing. They are very cagey about what's in it, but I've seen the ingredients list and it's nothing groundbreaking.

Most of the ones hyped up by beauty gurus on Youtube, particularly Too Faced and Anastasia Beverly Hills. And I won't touch Fenty by Rihanna with a barge pole.

Charlotte Tilbury. Agree with Molton Brown too!

L'occitane - this is 78GBP! Pleasant but does not very much Shock

I don't bother with expensive nail varnish I think Barry M is pretty good.

I love Lush and am quite happy to spend a small fortune in there.

Charlotte Tilbury.

Chanel make up. Especially nail varnish. Chips after ten minutes.

God yes, the ordinary. I bought into the hype! Every product I've had is useless and has had zero impact on my skin.

Molton Brown. Most of the shower gels and body lotions make me itch and bring me out in a rash.

Horses for courses though, innit? I like a couple of the brands mentioned on here, but wouldn’t give house room to Charlotte Tilbury or Jeffree Starr make up.
Teenage dsds love it though.
Are any beauty products really “worth the money”? I think, if I buy something that I think smells amazing (Jo Malone maybe) and when I put it on I feel great, then that’s worth the money...to someone else who thinks it smells like fly spray, probably not!

Benefit - its all packaging and marketing. Lately I'm wondering is that all creams and lotions though. Am I flushing my money away when Nivea would be just as good? The wrinkles appearing every day suggest so!

Some bits of Chanel. Nail polish, mascara, eyeliner all great. I went in to replace my compact foundation powder and somehow ended up in a parallel universe whereby I concurred with the woman that a gel foundation avec applicator brush was what I needed (it's not, I put on my make up on public transport).

Fucking $250 later (£110) I came to my senses and am plucking up the courage to return the unopened package. No bloody foundation is worth that! 30g of product in a Glitzy glass wotsit and an angled brush. Madness.
