Teenager sobbing in the eyebrow bar

It’s hard been 15 isn’t it the poor love. Apparently one was too thin and her nee night is ruined. Her poor mother trying to placate her and the woman who did it doesn’t know where too look. She has beautiful dark eyebrows unlike my menopausal wafers. I told her that when I got up to pay and they both gave me daggers!!!

Were you trying to be helpful or were you being judgmental?

HuskyMcClusky · 21/02/2018 14:46

Lol @ ‘menopausal wafers’ Grin

Direct her to reddit.com/r/awfuleyebrows. That’ll cheer her up.

EachandEveryone · 21/02/2018 14:58

Of. Purse I wasn’t been judgemental

I wanted to say you should’ve taken her to benefit like my little nieces then she could’ve had caterpillars like they all come out with

Good on her for having the confidence to say something there and then - at 15, I probably would have smiled, said thank you and gone home and cried!

EnidButton · 21/02/2018 16:22

Poor thing. Imagine if today's teens had to cope with crap bathroom lighting, a wall mirror and a pair of their Mum's blunt tweezers like we did. Grin

She'll be obsessing over them for weeks. I do not miss the teenage years.

EnidButton · 21/02/2018 16:23

My own teenage years I mean.

RickOShay · 21/02/2018 16:28

Grin
I have on of these
poor me

Bluntness100 · 21/02/2018 16:37

Well you sound judgemental and quite nasty with it.

Clearly it was too long ago for you to remember being 15.

How do you like it?

omBreROSE · 21/02/2018 16:54

Blunt
I’m not getting nasty from the op
Confused

Grumblepants · 21/02/2018 16:57

I don't think you sound judgemental either. I think it was nice if you to tell her she looked beautiful. I would love a comment like that from a stranger.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 21/02/2018 17:25

I'm not getting any nastiness from the OP. Other posters, OTH...

Paintbox · 21/02/2018 17:27

OP wasn’t being nasty bluntness! No-one else on this thread seems to agree with you either

RoseWhiteTips · 21/02/2018 17:29

The OP was not being nasty.
The girl is a baby, though.

pallisers · 21/02/2018 17:30

Well you sound judgemental and quite nasty with it.

so do you

RoseWhiteTips · 21/02/2018 17:30

Bluntness is being unspeakably rude. AND she is wrong.

Mercurial123 · 21/02/2018 17:42

The OP isn't being nasty but some people would pick a fight with their shadow......

GrannyGrissle · 21/02/2018 18:12

How on earth was OP being judgy or nasty? Confused You tried to be helpful and kind Op. I'm sure you can buy eyebrow merkins/wigs so i think glad eye'd teen will live Grin

BubblesBuddy · 21/02/2018 18:16

An eyebrow pencil might be useful!

EachandEveryone · 21/02/2018 18:23

Crumbs I’m just remembering my best friend getting a basin cut st 15 and she demanded her mother went out and bought her a wig there and then. It was the 80’s and she tied a bow around it like Bananarama. And then we went out clubbing. As you did in those days at 15!!

OP posts:
EnidButton · 21/02/2018 19:15

I didn't get a nasty vibe either. More a gentle ribbing and remembering what we were like at 15. Teen years are really hard!

EnidButton · 21/02/2018 19:16

Even harder now you're on display 24/7. Not a day goes by I'm not grateful the internet and social media didn't exist in the 90's.

I don’t think the OP sounded nasty at all. More sympathetic and ruefully remembering what it was like being that age! I seem to recall attempting to peroxide my fringe at that age, and colouring in green stripes with a felt tip pen. Which then ran down my face in the rain. Hey ho.

EachandEveryone · 21/02/2018 20:00

Not been nasty at all. Did anyone pluck their eyebrows with a razor? Blush how cone our mothers never took us to get them done?

OP posts:
AwkwardSquad · 21/02/2018 20:21

It wasn’t a thing when I was a teenager.
