How would you describe a mint velvet customer?

peachypetite Wed 14-Feb-18 13:58:20

How would you describe her?

Kenworthington Wed 14-Feb-18 13:59:21

Early middle aged suburban mum who likes to think she’s. A bit edgy and rock but not cool enough to go the whole look

BlueEyedWonder Wed 14-Feb-18 14:02:40

I don’t wear Mint Velvet but have a few friends who love it. They’re late 40s, like to dress well and don’t want to spear frumpy.

BlueEyedWonder Wed 14-Feb-18 14:02:57

Appear - FGS

Spot on ken but I think in a good way!

TinklyLittleLaugh Wed 14-Feb-18 14:16:22

My bestie is a Mint Velvet woman. Early 50s, great job, thinks she's a bit edgier than she actually is, spends a lot on clothes and herself generally.

Bejazzled Wed 14-Feb-18 14:18:21

Me

Knockedforsix Wed 14-Feb-18 14:29:32

And me.

Chewbecca Wed 14-Feb-18 14:33:11

I like their stuff & some of my favourite casual tops are from MV. The cut tends to be flattering, I like their batwing sleeved tops which go in at the bottom.

I am mid 40s, short, chunky, neither trendy or frumpy, have quite a lot of clothes & a good disposable income.

Why?

SmokedPaprika Wed 14-Feb-18 14:33:29

Poor Frumpy. Getting speared by all these 40 something, suburban rock chicks.

SporkInTheToaster Wed 14-Feb-18 14:37:39

Not me. Too much polyester for the price.

TeaAddict235 Wed 14-Feb-18 14:52:46

Early 50s and late 40, scared of Colour, a fan of greys in various tones. Wannabe rock chick in size 10 or smaller and very tall in size.

Pistachiois50pmore Wed 14-Feb-18 14:55:50

Have you seen Tamsin Greig's character in Friday Night Dinner?

weebarra Wed 14-Feb-18 14:58:08

Richer, taller and slimmer than me.

LadyMonicaBaddingham Wed 14-Feb-18 15:21:36

Is this some kind of freebie focus group, OP? hmm

imlovingangelsinstead Wed 14-Feb-18 15:24:33

Totally genuine post - I have a few jackets from there but haven't ventured further, I just wonder who it's aimed at. When I go in my local store it's always pretty dead so I never get a feel for the type of customer and it's not one I instantly like to think I know like a typical Boden customer iyswim

monkeywithacowface Wed 14-Feb-18 15:28:36

Ha ha Ken your description is spot on and made me smile. I have a few bits from MV and recognise a bit of myself in that description!

Shadow1986 Wed 14-Feb-18 15:34:26

I’m early 30’s and have a handful of MV jumpers.im at that age where a lot of my usual shops i.e topshop, miss selfridge feel a little young for me now. I would say a MV customer would be 35-55 age range

cod Wed 14-Feb-18 15:39:35

Agree. Too much viscose for the price

theHitcher Wed 14-Feb-18 16:44:58

I find it a bit Matalan in design.

domesticslattern Wed 14-Feb-18 16:54:20

Someone with a great love of grey polyester for £65 a pop.

GertieMotherwell Wed 14-Feb-18 17:00:12

It’s All Saints for the older woman

rightknockered Wed 14-Feb-18 17:04:04

From what I see, Mint Velvet seems a lot like Hush. So probably for women in their 30's/40's trying to get their mojo back
<awaits shit storm>

I bought my DD (17) a mint velvet leather biker and she lives in it.
