Number 81! The days are getting longer, and we're looking forward to shedding a few layers for Spring, while remaining stylish of course. If you love talking fashion and new buys, come on in, all welcome! Gin Wine Brew

I've missed loads, but of course the main thing is huge huge congratulations to Marsha and Bernice :)

Happy to say I will be making it a hat trick Grin with a little one due at the start of August! You were right Blingy!

Really looking forward to catching up (and I'm desperate for some advice on what clothes to buy now that most of my very fitted wardrobe is starting to, er, not fit). Wine

Blair!!!! FlowersFlowersFlowers such amazing news, am delighted for you. We a really are experiencing a MNV baby boom! How are you feeling? For the wardrobe question I would say stick to your existing fitted style, wear stretchy dresses that will grow with you. I bought a whole new wardrobe when I was pg which would not recommend and don’t think that sort of specific maternity wear such as Isabella Oliver tops made of yards of fabric that you have to re-wrap every time you go for a wee is fashionable any more. Topshop maternity jeans are good, I also had these stretchy waistband tube things that meant to could keep wearing normal trousers with the zip open and covered by the band. Sounds awful but it looked good and was particularly useful for work. Wrap dresses also work well.

Lib can understand the procrastination from job hunting, am doing exactly the same. Lovely dress links from you at end of the old thread, love the first one and the zandra r, have a big wedding this summer that a long dress would be fine for but don’t want to buy yet. The blue masscob is my Christmas party dress. Still love it, just collected it from dry cleaner actually to wear to a dinner party next week. Social life is picking up after new year lull. Out tonight to a fancy place with fancy people Grin, planning to wear marant étoile black velvet dress with thin black tights, kirkwood pearl heel sock boots, long Chanel necklace double looped and carry black & gold Charlotte Olympia clutch - big guns!

I was thinking of organising the next mu, maybe early March?

blair congratulations! What fabulous news! I’m so pleased for you. Re pregnancy clothes, I wore a lot of normal leggings (under the bump) and tunic style tops. I bought a couple of dresses from seraphine as found them pretty reasonable in price and good quality. I tended to wear more dresses when I was pregnant as didn’t like waistbands round the bump, apart from (maternity) jeans. First time I had some from seraphine, second time some from Jojo Maman Bebe and neither were great for me. The bump bands mara mentions are good for that in between stage where normal stuff is a bit tight but maternity stuff is massive. Topshop used to sell them. The frugality is currently pregnant too, so might be worth having a look at her Instagram for some ideas, even if her style isn’t really yours, it gives you an idea of what might work. I never really managed to wear my normal stuff for long in either pregnancy or just buying normal clothes in a bigger size, as for me the proportions were all wrong. But there is no need to buy loads, maybe approach it like having a capsule wardrobe?! I think I bought a couple of dresses and tops and a pair of jeans both times.

Blair that is fantastic news congratulations!!
So happy for you!
I love having a newborn I’m kinda jealous of your newborn days to come which is silly as mine is only 4 weeks old 😬

I was pretty slack on maternity wear, but I could do really casual at work so I stuck to skinnies and a few new tops, I’m sure you can do it more stylishly

There’s a link to a really ott designery site I’ll try and find it, I would have only done the 70% off items but I didn’t do that in the end and just stuck to High St, I’m a bit cheap when it comes to maternity

Thank you mara, everyone and marsha you're all so lovely :)

I am feeling good thanks, just very low on energy (13 weeks today so hopefully that will pick up). The symptoms all hit me at the start but I was only ever actually sick once (amazing) and then I got an awful awful cold at new year, but when that had passed all the other symptoms had gone. I had my scan on Wednesday and was 5 days ahead of what I thought, which sort of explained it.

Bump band is a really good idea, trousers are the first thing to not fit so would be good to get back into those and extend the wear for a bit. I don't want to spend loads, but it's also quite exciting to think about how I can try to stay stylish. I've got all my Me&Em and Baukjen dresses so will just wear them for now. Was thinking of getting some Topshop straight leg maternity jeans (under bump as due in summer) and maybe some isabella oliver treggings for work to wear with loose tops. But maybe I should just stick it out for now.

Mara your night out and outfit sound fab, enjoy!
Marsha aww 4 weeks already, so lovely.

I've got my brother & his gf staying and we're going out for tapas, I'm wearing velvet leggings and a loose cream v neck crepe top from Asos with hoop earrings. Missing my skinny jeans!

Oh that's absolutely brilliant news Blair!! Many congratulations! Grin glad to hear you have been so well.

I lived in clothes from Isabella Oliver and Seraphine when I was pregnant. My favourite jeans were from Mamas and Papas and I think I had stuff from jo jo Maman Bébé. I remember going into M&S when I was pregnant and phoning dh in tears because the maternity section was sooo bad. He said after that spend what I wanted. the fool.Grin

There's so much more choice now, 10 years later, when I look around. Have you looked at nine in the mirror? Also I remember H&M had good casual stuff and there were a couple of Gap things that worked.

Very excited for you!Grin

What lovely news Blair, congratulations Flowers. You're so stylish I'm sure you'll rock the 'maternity chic' look.

Mara stunning outfit last night. Hope you had a good evening. I'm up for a March MU (although do have a few things pencilled in already but may try to rearrange if dates clash!)

We are off to the theatre later with friends followed by food. I'll be wearing Whistles burgundy Lulu dress which I think I've only worn twice, black opaques, ash boots and the leather animal print bag I purchased in Italy last year. I'm really looking forward to actually getting out of the house - STILL unwell after 2 weeks!

Great news Blair. I'd also wondered where you'd disappeared to. Glad that you're back and feeling good. I've got no idea about modern maternity clothes. When I was pregnant it was in the Princess Diana era and I've got pictures of me wearing some really hideous outfits. Maternity clothes are so much nicer nowadays.

I'm on the sofa binge watching trash tv. We went out to celebrate a birthday last night & I'm suffering today. I wore my Cos navy wool & silk dress ( have worn it to previous MU), long black shearling coat & these Viktor & Rolf boots that I'd forgotton about.

I'm away for most of march so sadly will probably miss another MU.

On pregnancy style. For work I ended up with 2 JoJo maman Bebe wrap style dresses with a long line cardigan from the H&M maternity section. I bought jeans and navy trousers from Gap and some tops from H&M and Topshop. I loved my bump bands - I had SPD and as I got bigger I felt they gave me a bit of extra support. I had very few clothes really and it was quite nice not really thinking about clothes once I had a capsule sorted. I had to buy a coat which was annoying as my last 3 months were Oct, Nov and Dec and it was a very cold snowy winter.

I felt the same Lib, having a break from buying lots of clothes felt good, I did avoid a coat purchase in the end. I still feel like I need to get the shopping urge back
