Is anything as good as this? I just love it but not sure I can justify the expense. If I love this which other shower oil should I consider? Thanks

I'm with you there OP, it's gorgeous isn't it. I haven't found anything else as nice but can't afford to indulge often. Watching with interest Grin

yorkshireyummymummy · 15/01/2018 23:02

My advice would be to carry on using this. You have found something you love and everything else will be inferior in your mind.
If you can afford it then you carry on buying it.
If using it every day is a bit over your budget then use it on a weekend and get a l’occitane bar of soap to use during the week (bars of soap actually clean you better than liquid soaps and keep you fresher. I read that on here and I totally agree)
In my opinion and the way I run my life is if you can afford something and you get your pleasure and moneys worth from it then it’s money well spent.
I use l’occitane , white company and penhaligons products because I love them. I buy them in the sale and ask for them for birthdays.
Life is too short not to indulge yourself with nice smellies.
Sorry that I can’t reccomended another oil. Stick with the one you 💕 !!

ChangingStates · 15/01/2018 23:06

Oooh yes I got this for my birthday a while back and it’s Lucius- got a few ‘Occitan almond goodies this xmas from my brother so am well stocked and very happy Smile

ChangingStates · 15/01/2018 23:06

Luscious!!

thenightsky · 15/01/2018 23:09

If you use those exfoliating mitts in the shower you use a lot less shower oil I find. My bottle of almond shower oil lasts about 6 months. I reckon that works out about the same price per shower as cheaper stuff.

AuditAngel · 15/01/2018 23:13

It's also cheaper if you buy the refills rather than bottles. I love it

UnbelievablyAshamed · 15/01/2018 23:19

If I don't win best reply now I'll be upset! Haha OP I get my L'occitane stuff from this shop now, its the Brazilian products and they're all A POUND. This isn't th almond one. But I've just got out the shower using it and I feel amazing

John Lewis have a special buy at the moment of 1 bottle plus a 500ml refill for £35. You're getting 3 bottles worth for less than £12 each.

Fosterdog123 · 15/01/2018 23:25

The sanctuary shower oil is pretty similar I think www.boots.com/sanctuary-spa-2-day-long-lasting-moisture-shower-oil-10229015

hollyisalovelyname · 15/01/2018 23:38

Aveeno do an almond smelling shower oil that is similar

hmmwhatatodo · 15/01/2018 23:39

What’s so good about it? I’ve had a couple of little bottles of it that seem to come in gift sets but can’t remember it being anything special.

Leilaniiii · 16/01/2018 02:23

L’Occitane is tested on animals.

BinkyandBunty · 16/01/2018 04:27

Aveeno is better, and far cheaper IMO.

mintmagnummm · 16/01/2018 06:38

Not similar at all but really lovely as worth trying is the soaper duper shower gels, Tesco now stock them. I've tried the ginger one and I have the fig one but they do lots of flavours and are really nice, last ages too

SandysMam · 16/01/2018 06:55

The Jo Malone showers oils are even better but even more expensive so i’m not being helpful
I would limit yourself to two bottles a year then something cheaper in between, it will make you appreciate it more when you have it!

LostInShoebiz · 16/01/2018 09:44

Dreadfully snobby but I don't think I'd trust something bought for £1 that's usually far more. I'd be a bit suspicious for sure.

On a L'Occitane-related note, they have invested heavily in a MLM marketing scheme which is a shame. I hope there's a degree of separation from the core brand.

Fosterdog123 · 16/01/2018 22:16

If we're being snobby, Jo Malone is L'Oréal now.....

Sgtmajormummy · 17/01/2018 00:14

I used their website at Christmas and now I'm swamped with spam and pop-ups! Very annoying.

However the site offers good discounts, free delivery over a certain amount and ongoing voucher codes. I currently have 4x "€10 off when you spend €30" scratch cards. Only valid for Italian customers, sorry OP. Wink

But I'm sure they'd be glad to put you on their mailing list...

Sgtmajormummy · 17/01/2018 00:21

I'm never going to spend €120 before the end of February!

L'occitane almond shower oil
Bluesheep8 · 17/01/2018 12:16

I have to admit, I'm with another pp on this..I bought this after reading rave reviews as I love almonds and have liked other l'occitane products but didn't think it was anything special at all, didn't smell of anything in fact...maybe I had a duff bottle?...

LostInShoebiz · 17/01/2018 13:26

Bluesheep8 I think you must have had a duff one. I can smell the fact that I have one - closed and unused for about a week - in my bathroom (while I'm actually in the bathroom, not through the whole house).

I've had this Nuxe shower oil from the M&S beauty calendar and it's richer and thicker than the L'Occitane one.

It's not Radox prices but it is cheaper.

MorrisZapp · 18/01/2018 08:40

Get it via QVC when they do today's special value. They often have great deals.

But failing that, just give yourself permission to buy the stuff. It's great quality and lasts for ages. You have a birthday and Christmas every year to stock up!

Oliack1417 · 18/01/2018 08:56

I've tried this and was really unimpressed, also thought the bottle looked really cheap? It doesn't look like an expensive product.
I agree re the sanctuary shower oil, it's really lovely.
