I'm watching it too - really interesting results about moisturisers. Also liked the make up testing and which make up products actually worth spending more money on!

The section on the cellulite was good. I would have assumed exercise would have helped most of all.

Just watching it now, very interesting to watch. Maybe all of those years holidaying in the UK and not sun worshipping will keep me youthful wishful thinking

The problem with declaring one regime/product the “best” is that different things work for different people. Does the programme mention this? Different skin types etc...

I really enjoyed it - love Cherry. I saw Sali Hughes say on Instagram that on the makeup segment a bit of what she said about foundations was cut, and that there are lots of other factors to consider beyond just immediate application. She also mentioned that the lower end brands tend not to cater so well for women of colour.

I don't agree about foundation being better at the cheaper end of the market, what about longevity, colour choices, coverage etc. (And I would challenge nars orgasm foundation to any cheaper comparison). There's more to these things than the immediate effect IMO.

macca that’s essentially what SH said was cut out if that segment!

I wonder about sun damage. Surely by the age of 37 the damage is already done. So Cherry (who I like) being chirpy saying that at least she can do something about that, I though, bit late love!! I've been wearing SPF every day since the age of 25 but the wrinkles are appearing fast now (41). I suspect the damage was done in my sun worshiping youth and whilst my SPF is helping, most of the damage has happened?

Glad they focused on retinols too.

I do like the fact that these types of programme (also including say Trust me I'm a doctor) have moved away from regurgitating the minimal government-style advice to health and beauty treatments - i.e. eat fruit and veg, exercise, wear sun cream and everything else is a scam - and actually investigating and weighing up evidence in the research. It takes so long for good research to translate into public health advice, its great to be more informed about the current evidence, like the retinol section last night.

Also how our self esteem leads us in buying more expensive product.
Because we feel worse about ourselves we end up buying expensive products to make ourselves feel good. I think this has probably will change how i will be looking at makeup side of things.

With exercise you need at least three weeks to notice results, I would imagine that’s better long term.

On the whole I was disappointed.

It’s was very much one size fits all approach.

Also, lip gloss? It’s not very popular anymore, why test that?

I also don't agree about moisturiser. My skin was completely transformed after changing moisturisers. I even did a before and after face scan like the one they did on the show. After 3 months my skin had improved in terms of wrinkles, sun damage and scaring.

I wish they had tested whether hyalauronic acid actually does help increase absorption of moisturiser like it claims, that would have been interesting!

I am glad they talked about retinol, i have been useing it for a year now, i get it from the ordinary, a brown spot i had on my cheak has almost gone. I also use liquid gold i think it helps too.

Yes I would have liked more information about acids, like glycolic acid, hyralonic acid etc. Think they briefly mentioned peptides? Vitamin C? All ingredients that have proven benefits so would have been nice to see further research rather than a blanket 'don't use moisturiser'.

I'm now looking for a low % retinol night cream after this programme!

Wow they said “don’t use moisturiser” I’m impressed hope I can watch on catch up TV. Really didn’t think the problem with moisturiser use would have filtered down this quickly to a popular outlet. Trying to wean clients off moisturisers is a headache, this sounds like my job just got easier!!

Yes they said most skins don't need a moisturiser. Just use an SPF.

Are you in the beauty industry nocturne? It's interesting, my dermatologist said I didn't need a moisturiser, just serum and SPF. I found it so hard to stop using but trusted her and skin is looking good.

What serum do you use Delatron? Does serum moisturise? Not sure of it’s purpose.

The idea that moisturiser might be bad for the skin is news to me!! But don't serums and spf creams moisturise?
