Welcome to the long-running perfume thread! All are welcome - drop in to chat about old loves or new discoveries. Ask a perfume question and someone here will know the answer.

Be warned though, we are a bunch of terrible enablers and you may wish to put your credit card in the freezer before entering Wink

I did wonder if the thread title needed a reference to snotty tissues as well Grin

Also, apologies for the lack of accents on negligees but I don't know how to do them on a chromebook!

SOTD is TF Tobacco Vanille. It's nice enough but I might scrub in favour of SL Five o'clock Gingembre for a more Christmassy vibe.

Very little snow here, just a very frosty garden, some chilly cats and a lot of rain.

Thanks Kittens

SotD is Tea for Two, this is so warming. Spiced tea, tobacco, vanilla and oh so sweet honey. It is finally snowing here.

Snow has all but gone so I'm cheering myself up with copious amounts of Centerpiece. Pleased I bit the bullet when it was scent of the week.

Well after the first couple of hours of Vanilla overload my ACD Vanille Insensse has calmed down and is much more pleasant.

No snow here but a frozen DD1 who had a football tournament this morning. Only half her team showed up so after 3 games they called it a day and went for chips.

I was really taken by Etui Noir when I tried it a couple of weeks ago bluebell. In fact, I've got my eye on a couple of reasonably-priced bottles on ebay right now...

I have managed to post on the old thread so will C and P it here, so it appears on TIO!

Love the new title! I feel like I should be wearing an Elizabeth Taylor perfume for the full effect!

Lots of silent but beautiful snow here, hope it's not causing any problems for other Perfumistas. DH leaves the house at 4am and the forecast said it would be -6 tomorrow. He might have to dig his car out!

Centrepiece is gorgeous Janet, I've put a teeny bottle in the stocking of my perfume loving DD.

Onenight Maybe you should arrange a GP visit? I ignored similar last year and it really fucked up my Christmas, I should have gone to the doctors well before I did. Nice to see you (and MrsMac back though, I'm sure we are missing a few others - green are you about? Guess everyone is horribly busy in December!

Calm thank you - I have tried a sample of the Crimes of Passion and (although it really should be on paper) it wasn't one of my favourites. I prefer the 4160s citrusy one's but I think I'm in the minority here!

SOTD is Shalimar - thanks to my ineptitude with teeny bottles I managed to entirely miss my neck and generously spray my "sold on EBay and need to be packaged" clothes pile I am damned if I'm going to wash them all again so hopefully people will like it

My advent calendar was a face mask which contained orange essential oil, was very nice and felt very lux even if my skin still looks pale and tired!

Hope people are feeling better two weeks until Christmas Eve!

SOTD is nenuco cologne. I'm working and can't wear anything strong but this always gets nice comments and it's dirt cheap

Hello All! Sitting here in fleecy pyjamas and dressing gown, rather than a negligee, but there is plenty of cat fluff...

So sorry to have fallen behind on the calendar updates...think I may've missed:

  • Our Modern Lives beta. A very nice gentle woody musk designed for layering. (Anti-allergenic - so very helpful to wear in its own right now).

  • Our Modern Lives Green - Leaf - New. This is like eating a salad in the springtime sitting on a freshly mown lawn. Sharp minty green start, followed by a waft of picklely cucumber and then bags of almost hemp-like deep spinach. (Think wearing this probably counts as at least two of your five a day Wink).

  • Then came Bodhi Language, which is a revelation. Think this is a The Buddahwood Box Vs The Sexiest Scent mash-up? They are very good for each other - this is still a rich wood, but it becomes much gentler, a bit sweeter and more multi-dimensional. The Sexiest Scent adds an interesting hint of lemon and, overall, seems to lift and aerate things. Really good - if the 9mls hadn't been sold out I would've nabbed one. Nothing like Mother Nature's Naught Daughters or Who Knew, but sort of belongs alongside them?

  • Yesterday was Shazam! One of my favourite orientals ever. Fizzy oranges and frankincense, cardamon and amber. Yes, the old school patchouli is quite hippy dippy-ish, but given its outstanding mood boosting properties, I don't mind Smile.

  • And finally, today was Our Modern Lives Sunset-Orange-Peace. A pleasant orange/peach/rose geranium. I haven't tried to layer yet with alpha or beta.

And just on MH Etui Noir, I notice one of The Perfume Society boxes includes 7.5ml plus 7.5ml of Lumiere Doree. I really like the latter as a summer holiday scent (as a summer citrus/white floral/amber scent, I like it much more than Neroli Portofino). So that box is quite a good buy, just for those two.

Good to see you back MrsM! Sounds like all the OMLs are coming at the right time.

Floof I'd be over the moon with Shalimar scented clothes and would be asking you what washing powder you used Grin

Lots of snow here so visitors right to go. Snowman building and sledging and general fun but I think tomorrow will be the bad side of it - already had school closure notice and the roads will be very icy by the morning...

SotD was ACAC Cedrat Enivrant which I've been hoping for ever since it appeared in Fosco's ACD. Oooh it's so crisp and fresh and was gorgeous for walking in the snow. Lasted longer than some of the others too.

Tried the banana powder from yesterday's LF AC and very impressed - everything's still in place despite the hour or so of walking with the snow falling onto my face. Today was a face mask. You need about 20 mins to do it which feels a bit unlikely at the moment but hopefully will get a chance to give it a go before too long...

I have some Dior addict on the way from Santa 😁
Have managed to get a bottle of agent provocateur and like it - I wear it for work as it's a lovely rose musk and not too strong
Need some cologne for dh though....anyone smelt d&g the one?
Hope advent is a happy time for all of you x

DD2 just came and gave me a hug and told me I smelt lovely. Maybe Vanille Insensse isn't so bad after all. It has certainly lasted way longer than any of the other ACs on me.

I'm jealous of your soaps though, will probably spend my money off voucher on soap rather than perfume. Altbough I may have accidentally bought myself some l'atelier do bois de grasse amber pink grapefruit when doing an Amazon shop. It was only £10 for 100ml so an absolute bargain!

Yes that’s right mrsmac the Etui Noir came in the Latest Launches Perfume Society box - a steal at £12.50 (vip price or £17.50) for 2 x 7.5ml beautiful Miller Harris Perfumes, a fabulous 10ml E Coudray Rose Tuberose (smells a bit Tauer-esque to me) - the Etui Noir layers with both wonderfully. There’s also Shay and Blue Dandelion Fig (which is amazing) and perfume de Marly Delina (very expensive- it’s quite nice) Annick Goutal Tenue de Soirée (a scrubber on me) 3 cheapie samples (Yardley and a couple of cheaper fashion brands - ok) plus a Weleda Lavendar oil and a wonderful powdery scented sachet (for car/drawer). It’s the best set they’ve done and would make a wonderful present for a perfumista (ie yourself!)

I may have just ordered a shedload of perfume Blush I’ve come on here to confess to my fellow addicts Sad

In my defence, i only got samples and Perfume Parlours- and quite a few are presents!

So I got 10 samples from Bloom perfumery- for my DH who asked for refills for his sample collection for Xmas.

My PP order includes 4 classic Guerlains, Kilian Straight to Heaven for DH who loves it, the Tea Imperial as someone here recommended it, a couple of Jo Malones for SILs, 2 Francis Kurkdjians for me, 3 Tom Fords for DH and me. Agh! When I am I going to wear all of these?!?

SotD is JPG Classic (one squirt) on my tummy), Tea for Two yesterday was just too sweet and outrageously long lasting. I might just be being sensitive, my moisturiser seems really smelly today and I am sure it is normally quite subtle.
