'Going out stuff' for 50+, average height, slightly plump help please

Help please MN stylists! I need something to wear for various Christmas dos coming up. Different people so could wear the same thing at all of them but can't find anything I like the look of. Probably looking at top half as i have comfortable slim leg black trousers (and also in navy)
I'm a tubby size 14, average height, largish boobs. I don't like high necks, so lowish without boobs hanging out. I get hot very easily so long sleeves out. Don't mind sleeveless but have broad shoulders so not skater back. Prefer Autumnal colours. Any ideas? Links to actual items would be appreciated as I'm running out of time, and for same reason from a high street store so I can try on, haven't time for online if it ends up not fitting or suiting. Any help appreciated. Thank you

I was about to post both my 'go-to' outfits when I saw you didn't want sleeves and I always cover my arms.

I'll post anyway cos if nothing else, it'll bump it for you. So for what it's worth, one is a silk shirt - would that work with your trousers if you rolled up the sleeves?

The other is a fitted velvet blazer - I assume that's no use at all.

As you can see, I keep it fairly low key! Hope you get some other suggestions soon.

Thank you both. The Boden ravello tops are lovely and the kind of top I wear for work. @Floisme please could you post links? Jackets are ok cos i can take it off, and sleeves which genuinely look ok rolled up are fine too

I'm afraid can't post links of any of the actual pieces op cos they're all either second hand or things I've had at the back of the cupboard for years. But I've seen very similar on the high street, most likely in Zara, M&S, I think Massimo Dutti and possibly Next and Boden too. I'll have a look first thing tomorrow for some links that are close and post them for you.

Ah ok, thank you and please don't spend too long looking - am sure you've lots of other things to be doing at this time of year!!

No problem, it was a bit thoughtless of me to post like that when you said you were after links Blush

I've not shopped in Zara for years but I've seen some nice looking blazers from there this season which are tempting me back.
I think this velvet one is pretty close to the shape of mine. Or this one and I think this one looks lovely if you wear red.

This Next one looks a bit shiny but it's a better price - and personally I don't like spending too much for Christmas dos where the lighting's poor and most people are pissed anyway.

Boden have one in navy although it looks a bit boxy. But I hear they're in some branches of John Lewis now so you might be able to see it for real?

I would keep it on all evening unless I really started to cook.

Marks and Spencers usually have a few silk shirts, especially in Autograph I like them slouchy and a bit oversized and always roll the sleeves up. They've got this in red, black or a rather non festive looking stripe. Or this although I've not seen any of the colours in real life so they may turn out to be a bit ghastly.

But again I might be tempted to check out Zara for a cheaper non silk version e.g. this - that one might be a bit low cut but I bet they'll have others.

Hope there's something there that's of help! Good luck.

Dammit what happened to that M&S silk shirt? Here it is again:

It's in Autograph if it doesn't work.

Thank you for going to so much trouble @Floisme - I love the first Zara green velvet blazer and the next black one. Not so sure I'd wear the blouses on a Christmas night out but might for work when going on somewhere after. Unfortunately today's plans of shopping altered by the weather :-(

Looking for clothes is never any trouble Smile That's a bummer if you had to cancel today. Hope you get something soon.

It's not like I have no clothes to go out in, just not as nice as what everyone else seems to wear! I have a Christmas meal mid week, which I'll wear an old favourite for. Am near shops for the next do on Friday so will go early, dressed in reserve top and see if I can find something better en route!
