I’m too scared to wear my new leather leggings in case they split!

This wouldn’t happen, would it? they definitely fit, even perhaps a little room to spare (despite lots of advice to go down a size I didn’t because of the split-terror) but I’m curvy and split my faux-cheapy ones in the past.

They are the Cos ones. Saved like mad for them. Cost per wear would make them great value if I wasn’t so terrified to wear them Blush I don’t know what Cos customer service is like if they do split too.

AIBU??!

Are you worried the seams will spilt or the leather will spilt?

The seams I guess. I’ve lost 4 stone and it’s hard to imagine my bum being as small as it is- I have awful visions of walking around with an unknowing gape in the arse!

wear them around the house until you feel confident in them, then just wear them on short trips out.

A bit like a pair of high heels, ease into it gradually.

Oh yes I have worn them and stroked them in front of the mirror a fair bit. They are just lovely... but what if they do split? Would Cos take them back? Or would they just assume I was too porky for them?? it says I not have 14 days to return things.

Wear a long top / thigh length jumper over them to start with. So you have 'coverage' in case of the worst. No that anything's going to happen!

A few outings and you'll feel more confident

They only reason they would spilt is if they are faulty and then they'd have to take them back. If you can get into them without having to grease yourself up then you're definitely not too porky (as you put it yourself).

Deffo long top on first outing.
I'm laughing at you stroking them, I've done the same with my new leather skirtGrin

Would you be wearing knickers under them or would split mean your bum crack being displayed to the world? Turn that fear of crack flashing into a frisson of excitement instead. 'Today could be the day I show my bountiful bum cheeks to the world. How sexy.'

I guess if I got some spangly pants it could become part of the look. Like a snow-white cut away sleeve effect for the bum.

I had a whistles dress once that I didn’t wear for two years and when I finally wore it for the first time it split on the bum seam. whistles were really rude about it! I think it’s scarred me!

My understanding is that under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 goods have to be of satisfactory quality, ie fit for purpose. So unless you are acting unreasonably and trying to squeeze yourself into a too small size, they would need to refund them if they split after just a couple of wears

I’m going to bite the bullet and wear them in Paris this weekend. I’m sure splitarse isn’t tres Parisienne but at least if it does happen I won’t ever see any of the witnesses again! Unlike the Whistles drwas incident which was at a family wedding Blush

Take some black shoe polish and give your behind a good going over before donning the leathers.

If they split, you will have camouflage.

Good plan, plus the extra lubricant may help their flexibility Grin
