Do pretty much all celebrities have hair extensions?

Obviously they are still mere mortals and lots are blessed with natural thick, glossy hair however so many have such thick hair (that looks bloomin' amazing with loose waves) that my colleagues and I yesterday concluded they must do.

Even Meghan Markle (y'know the famous actress who is marrying an ex-soldier next year?) stepping out for pics/interviews last week had some added in - and she has beautiful hair, albeit it was slightly thicker and longer looking. I would love to get some (my hair grows no problem it's just so thin) to thicken mine up but so unsure about the upkeep of them....oh to have personal stylist! Anyone have them (the more permanent microbond ones not clip ins)?

I read Mindy Kaling's book last year and she talks about expectations of beauty in LA/ the entertainmentment industry . She says that EVERYONE has hair extensions- even if they don't want their hair to be longer, they'll get them to add volume, and as a result anyone living there without them looks like Gollum from Lord of the Rings.

I thought it was obvious Kate Middleton had them- no ones hair is naturally that swishy!

More wear wigs now the. Extension but yes the mostly all do.

Yes or as others say wigs. Nicole Kidman, for example, wears a wig in almost every film she's ever been in, as her natural hair is very curly and delicate and would be damaged by being styled with heat every day.

  1. Most female celebs aren’t natural size zeros. Maintaining that kind of figure (when it doesn’t come naturally) on a long term basis will take it out of your hair and nails.

My hair looks pretty ordinary day to day.

But when I go to the hair dresser and she blow dries it it looks awesome! I don't look like me any more. I imagine this is the case with celebrities.

You see a lot of celebrities in LA walking around with no makeup in gym gear because they want downtime to be relaxing. I wouldn't imagine looking after a waist-length tousled mane full-time allows for that so someone like Kylie Jenner for example actually has a short brown bob under all this.

Nah, Kate M has monster thick hair. Some people just do.

Yes, the hairdressers usually ask them where their hair is so they can start prepping it to go in while they go through make up, nails and wardrobe first. Unusual for 'celebs' with long hair not to have them.

There was an Australian drama starring Nicole Kidman and I think she had her own hair in it. She made curly grey curls look mega glamorous.I m jealous

Nicole Kidman's hair has lost all its natural curl (she talks about it in a Graham Norton interview). I'm sure she does wear wigs on set but her straight hair is now natural.

Nicole Kidman was in Top of the Lake but it wasn't her natural hair it was a wig.

I’ve used a few different types of extensions, started off with clip in which are great for nights out and stuff but not really practical for everyday and you can’t really sleep in them, uncomfortable and the hair gets damaged. I’ve had a weave, seriously sore head for the first three days but after it was great had it for about a month or so but washing hair is a nightmare, you HAVE to make sure the hair is bone dry otherwise you risk getting damp stagnant water build up that would eventually make you’re head smell horrific and they can be quite lumpy under the top layer of hair. I’ve got keratin bonds now and they’re great, sore for the first couple days but they can be put up into a pony, into a bun they add a lot of thickness and length and as it’s structured around hot hair it looks natural and isn’t hidden well, they need to be replaced every 3-4 months or go in for refills after about 2 months and they rescue any that have grown a bit far down. The downside to them is not being able to condition the roots very well as conditioner can weaken the strength of the bond, can’t really dye hair around them very easily and removal is a little pinchy :O my next set will be tape in so I guess I’ll try them all until I just learn to love my own hair which is really thick anyway 😂 be warned, once you start it’s hard to stop because you get used to seeing yourself with masses of hair when they’re gone you feel like your own hairs not good enough... or at least that’s how I feel!! 😂

They can't all need them. There are plenty of people in real life who have naturally thick hair, so there must be some celebrities.

Britney is practically bald now because constant hair extensions have ruined her own hair.

I would love to see Beyoncé's normal hair, and Tyra banks, and Oprah's for that matter. They have just always purported the whole 'untouchable' level. I want to know if they wince during the de-knotting process. Can you forever wear a wig? What happens at the end?

Celebrities have all the lump sum they need to do anything they wish..unlike us!! I'm sure they do the extensions plus all the other jobs done to make them look great...Personally, I like the way nicki minaj has got her hair done.

Oprah's hair is real. She has it blow dried every day. She's talked about it before. Very difficult for anyone without her money to achieve the same look. Basically experts spend hours per day on it.

Seen Good hair circa 2009. But that ain't Beyoncé's natural hair! Come on. That has been relaxed or blow dried to within an inch of it's life. No, I want to see some real hair pictures. Some at home chilling after a onesie day, normal hair day, or the day before the hairdressers.

Impressed if that is Oprah's real hair, it just seems to have been the same forever.

Kate Middleton definitely has extensions in at least some of time. She’s always had thick hair anyway, but she still uses them. The volume of her hair changes day to day, and there are plenty of pics floating around where you can see where the fake hair begins and her real hair ends
