Mourning the demise of my all time favourite jeans

They were (amazingly) from M&S, I think around 4 years ago. Lovely soft, stretchy denim, perfect fit, comfortable. They now have a big rip at the knee so really only suitable for wearing around the house.

They were the original M&S 5 pocket jegging, but the equivalent style in M&S now is just not the same. The denim is different (not as soft/stretchy) and they are not as long (I am tall). The label on my old ones says they are 28% polyester, 2% elastine with just 70% cotton, which I think must be why they were so comfy.

Any ideas where I can find something similar? Must be long in length and fit on the waist, soft and stretchy denim.

Please help!

A friend has suggested Top Shop Jamie jeans as a possible alternative. Anyone tried them? I'm 44 and not sure I can face entering a Top Shop!

TS Jamie skinnies are great. I have them in blue (x2), black and just bought another light grey pair last week. They fit perfectly, wash well and go with everything.

Thanks that's good to know Beast, I might be brave and order some online (I see it's free postage this week). Those ASOS ones also look a likely contender, and a good price, thanks littleflowershop

I meant to add, I also have a couple of pairs of FatFace 5 pocket jeggings that I really like. They're really soft and also fit well, could be worth checking out too.

No ideas I'm afraid but I have nearly worn out my holy grail of jeans, the sadly now discontinued Levi Curve, and am in mourning. Feel your pain.

You can still buy new the original 5 pocket Jeggings on eBay from the ex chain store type sellers - I am wearing a newly purchased pair right now - supplies are definitely dwindling though

You NEED these - they were recommended to me 18 months ago on here and I don’t wear anything else now.

4 way stretch, don’t fall down, no stupid bits that cut in, wash like a dream. They’re utterly perfect.

Top shop Jamie jeans were my ultimate jeans till they died a few years ago and when I replaced them and they were nowhere near as comfy as the ones I originally had

Do you mean the Next 360 ones Laurie? I can't see any that are described as four way stretch Confused

Sainsbury's 4 way stretch. They come in long, are mega comfy. Bit tricky to get on the first time but they're so flattering as well

I had the same problem OP loved the M&S jeggings and disappointed in the ones they have now! Got great ones in Tesco you should give those a try and cheaper too 😘

Problem with the Sainsbury's and Tescos ones is that they won't be long enough Sad. I ideally need 33/34" leg.

The Next Premium Modal skinny jeans

In the picture you can see on the back of the jeans it says 4 way stretch - they’re £42 if you can’t see the picture

They do long lengths Smile

Sainsbury's do long length. I'm 5ft 10, the jeans are long on me and their long leggings wrinkle at the ankle Shock

Might be worth a try then Ollivander, although on the website it says the long is 31" (and they are out of stock in my size anyway Angry).

Try the Jamie’s. They are great. And I am nearly 40!

Topshop Joni’s are much softer and stretchier than Jamie I find. No pockets bit I don’t mind that, I never use jeans pockets anyway.

Their black coated Joni’s are my favourite jeans ever.

Sainsbury's long ones are definitely longer than 31 I have 34 inch legs and struggle to get jeans long enough but love Sainsbury’s ones! Really nice stretch, super comfy and perfect length for me.

Yeah I don't think they're 31 as they would be too short on me! I would say similar length to m&s long if that helps

What size are you. I've got a dark blue pair (canvas rather than Jean though) from around 4 years ago. They look rubbishy in me so barely worn. Your welcome to them...am doing a wardrobe full so they'll just go to charity shop anyhow. Size 8.

Get the TS Jamies online OP! I do, as they never have the 32" leg in my local store anyway. (I am not a 32" leg really but Jamies are slightly cropped so I prefer the longer length).

The one thing about Jamies is that each colour has different denim. I have a blue denim pair, the fabric is amazing but they're not my favourite colour. I have two black pairs, love the colour but the "denim" is shite tbh, it's thin and gets runs / small holes really easily. Love them though so still wear them loads. Then I've a grey pair that have different denim again, more stretchy than the blue ones.

I can't try Jonis as DD (16) has a pair. She wouldn't mind but I'd feel I was trying to be too young. I'm 41 btw.

Tesco do the long length jeans online, I've never seen them in the shops but as DD is 5'9" we order them online and they are long enough for her.
