What is the answer to this? Winter boot

I have an issue with winter boots every year.
I have very cold feet
I want an ankle boot that is lower than a biker really as my ankle is the slimmest part of my slightly chunky legs and if i cover ankles up with biker boots, my legs look too chunky and straight up and down.
I want to wear them mostly with skinny jeans or leather leggings and sometimes skirts.
I want them to be leather and very warm.
I have wide feet so they can’t be a narrow style.
I look much much better in heels but can’t find any chunky boots with suitable practical heels so I am willing to look at flat boots, although not with a huge amount of enthusiasm!
I look much better in items with embellishment or points of interest like studs or straps, can’t do plain chunky boots without looking like a workman as my look is quite feminine (hoc style day “rules” which really work well for me)
I know this all sounds a bit silly but I’ve bought plain leather chunky boots before and hated them all winter, they just make me feel awful so I’m not prepared to waste more money on them. I have snow boots for bad weather but want something now for School runs etc. . Thanks very much as I know this is a big ask.

A tight fitting biker boot? I bought some Guess ones from TK maxx the other day .

Hudson apisi ankle boot is quite low cut and very comfortable. I always size up in boots and put in a sheepskin insole, you get the warmth of uggs, but not the ugliness

Yes hendricks, a shorter biker might work but I cannot cant seem to find any. Has anyone seen any which are shorter and also have some detailing on them, like studs, straps, bling?! I just don’t suit the more manly type of biker. In fact I don’t suit bikers at all but I can’t see any other option at the mo.
Chartreuse, they are really nice but I already have similar, what I really want it a more chunky winter boot without having a chunky winter
Boot!!
Am I missing some other style
Options??

Dunno, but I recommend buying 2 boots, not just one.

And now I'm that poster, but seriously.

What's your budget? I've tried these on, I have very skinny ankles and struggle with ankle boots looking like wellies on; these fit neatly at the ankle but have a lovely chunky sole making them a bit tougher looking.
I would go down half size, or stick with your normal size and stick in a sheepskin insole as a PP advised.

Or perhaps have a look at Ugg, not the classic slipper style, they do tons of different leather boots, many heights and many with real sheepskin linings.

Meant to say, if you fancy Uggs, have a look at Shoeaholics, or Ugg Outlet (on the official site, just need to sign up to enter) for great discounts and past season styles.

Leg warmers! They make skinny leg worries a thing of the past AND are super warm.

Best thing I’ve diacover d in 35 years!

Mrs they are nice but I think still too high for me. I want something that stops at my ankle really. This is so hard!

Brio, sadly my legs are slightly chunky not skinny which is why I want to show my ankle, the slimmest part of my leg

R&B Glamping might suit you.

Will get a link.

Glamper not Glamping. These are very warm and comfy but they'd also accentuate your ankles.

Navy and Black (Ignore the silly coloured laces on the black you can change them)

Thanks so much for your help. The Ugg ones are good but in suede when I wanted leather really. It rains a lot here.
The r&b ones I can’t decide if I like or not but the price is too much anyway I’m afraid. I would stretch to about 180 for the right pair.
Thanks again

I'm thinking a Chelsea boot - you can get them with warm lining, every kind of heel height. The elastic sides would mean it is not too chunky on the ankle.

THanks mash. They are very nice but I wonder if they are sturdy enough for winter boots when it might be a little slippy outside but not cold enough for snow boots.
Sergeant, I’ve tried to find some Chelsea boots with a sturdy grippy sole and warm linings but I can’t find any in leather at all, where am
I going wrong??

I’ve just got some Dr Marten’s Lenonore. They sound just like what you are looking for. They are doing just the job, I really like them.

Have a look at Fly London. I have just bought some gorgeous flattish black boots (calf length so not what you are looking for) and they have all different lengths including these www.flylondonshop.co.uk/womens/flats/seku057flt

Thanks Trixy and Waitrose. The
Dms look exactly what would be comfy warm and practical but just not my style. I am being a pain I know. Plain chunky boots like these just do me no favours and the same with the sorrels. I would enjoy the comfort of them but not the looks. The irony is that I really like the docs but on other people not me. I really wanted the impossible of something sturdy and chunky and warm but more feminine if possible

You are asking too much of one pair of boots.

Report
Waxlyrically · 20/11/2017 15:27

I have these. I appreciate they look a bit plain on the website but they work well with a skirt or skinny jeans and finish low at the ankle. They also have a small heel but are comfortable.
