Does this even exist?? (Alternative to cardigan)

Hello!
I wear cardis to work but feel slobby in them. Would love a more structured alternative, but not as stiff/formal as a blazer or suit jacket. Maybe hip length, soft material, with bit of shape, that will go with smart/casual work wear and jeans. And have enough "give" for typing etc. When I do wear proper suits for meetings, I end up taking off jacket as it feels restrictive.

Am I asking the impossible? I'd love any ideas of where to start looking.

Thanks!

You're looking for an unstructured blazer...or a woolen blazer. The one above is nice I think.

Crumbs that sounds like something I should have realised myself! 😶😂 I will have a google. Thank you!

Mrs Oh I like that! Yes, that kind of thing would be a good option, it's got more shape than my normal stuff.

Would you be ok with bolero shaped ones or does it have to be a blazer shape?

Not set on blazer shape, as long as it isn't too short, I'd be happy with other shapes

I got some from Ralph Lauren - they are more formal than cardis but are thick knitted material and fitted like jackets.

That indeed is a delightful option man. A bit bulky maybe? But I want it anyway!

Fekko bloody love that.
Colins also love that... pity they are so low in sizes.

Thanks everyone, really getting good ideas here. Appreciate it!

Uniqlo jersey blazer is my go to for work. I’m a secondary teacher so need to be smart (not business suit smart) and it feels like wearing a cardigan as the jersey is soft and they’re not lined.

New Look also if good for softer jacket shapes that wash and wear well.

I have a couple of coatigans from TK Maxx. My office is pretty chilly and I needed something smarter than a normal Cardi but warmer than a suit jacket.

Jersey blazer or cardigans like this

I have similar in black and taupe and they def look smarter than a cardigan

Thank you all! Did a bit of browsing, think I will hit the shops this week and try on some shapes/styles
I like shape of 1st one best I think, not sure about the pattern, but M&S is only 5 mins away so will nip down to try it on

The boyfriend blazers in oasis sound like what you are after, smart but casual

I got a biker jacket in river island in yellow. Goes great with black and soft and smart

This jacket is my go-to at the moment. Smarter than a cardi, warm and cosy. Was great as a jacket outside in autumn, good for inside now. It works from jeans to dresses.
