I am aimlessly googling and becoming more disheartened by the second! I’m going out for nice cocktails next weekend and I need something to wear! Dress code for one of the places is no jeans so I’m really struggling. I am 10lbs heavier than I want to be so most of the things I already own don’t fit well and look rubbish.

So I’m a size 10, 31 and need something with sleeves as annoyingly I have spots all over my shoulders and back (none of my face or anywhere else just shoulders and back!). Ideally looking for dress above the knee as I’ll wear it with boots or flats (can’t wear heels at all so anything longer tends to look awful on me). The more I shop the more my self esteem is plummeting into the ground.

Please pleas help me, I’ll be forever grateful.

Could you give us some idea of your budget, body shape and style?
Any good?

ASOS have a quite a few short dresses with sleeves if you've not looked there yet.

I got this from ASOS, £30. It’s lovely in real life.

I love that Asos one! Thank you, is it really short on with it being from the petite section?

I ideally don’t want to spend any more than £40. Body shape wise I’m fairly hourglass, nice bum, dumpy legs, tummy sticking out more than it used too. Thank you for helping CakeBrewWineSmile

The Asos one isn’t available in my size. That would have been perfect.

I like the warehouse one, I’d forgotten about warehouse. Thank you. Looks like it’s a bit floaty too so would cover up my stomach. Wondering if I should buy a few and then send back the ones I don’t want.

They do a non-petite version too, keep trying as people put things in their basket but they go back in stock after an hour. I had to do same but got it after a few tries. It’s so flattering on.
