What trainers are cool now? Anyone got any ideas?

Last year I bought some Nike Huaraches and wore them every day but they're a bit worn now.

What trainers are cool now, given that I'm early 40s and need to wear them to work as well as cycling in them occasionally (ie not white.

Are Huaraches still cool? Or is something else? I have no idea but want to look vaguely current (without being MDL) as I work with 20-somethings.

Any thoughts appreciated!

why don’t you just buy a pair you like. .?

Growingboys Tue 14-Nov-17 21:26:20

Thanks Bubbles, will look!

Bath I answered that in my OP

I have two pairs and my DDs (in their 20s) were impressed. You see loads being worn in London by young ladies on their way to work before they change into heels. Nike seems to be the favoured brand.

OP I don't think you did answer Bath's question unless the answer is you'd rather look cool to twenty somethings than wear something you like...

Why don't you consider your personal style and what you usually wear? Something cool that goes with cigarette pants isn't going to look good with a floral midi dress.

Adidas Flux are massively popular and massively comfy!

@Growingboys if there is one way to guarantee you don’t look ‘cool’ it’s blindly aping whatever ‘cool’ is said to be. HTH

It seems to be all about the Vans trainers now. Black with a white stripe on the side.

And Bath I think I’m doing ok but appreciate your concern!

I think it depends on what kind of look you're going for. black vans old stool are very trendy at the moment I'd say can be worn with anything, much like a trusty pair of converse, I love the gold and rose gold ones.

flyknits are equally popular and amazing but I don't think they can styled with as many things as the vans/cons

if you don't want something in between the both the the gazelles are the way to go

ChishandFips33 Sat 18-Nov-17 18:44:40

I have Gazelles and Superstars. Probably favour the Superstars as they are chunkier

I don't follow fashion as such but wear what takes my eye or what is popular on mumsnet, baaah

In my super cool young office, it’s lots of Nike’s. In black. My black Theas (customised on Nike ID) were much admired. I’ve just bought some Nike Structure which are actually proper running shoes, but IME they last longer than then fashion brands and can be cheaper, and are definitely super comfy. And I got mine half price so winning. These:
