I’m charged with buying Great Grandma (94yrs) a new jumper for Christmas. Here’s the brief:

Fine knit
Pretty pastel colour
Round neck

I can see lots of nice cashmere online but can only really spend about £40-£50 max. Anyone seen anything suitable?

My mum wore Uniqlo merino wool in her 90s.

Woolovers .... have recently bought their cashmere merino crew and it is absolutely lovely ... soft, warm and washes well. Only around £40 and loads of colours.

Thank you all! I didn’t consider Uniqlo, and I’ll check out the other links too.

Edinburgh Woolen Mill (does it still exist?)

Anyway, Uniqlo merino is fab and machine washable, so good choice if they have the colours.

Thanks so much for all fo your suggestions. I went with this one from Edinburgh WM in the end. It’s a near perfect replacement for one I know she loves.
