I've been using Clairol Nice 'n Easy 8G (natural honey blonde) for years, but last week, after driving to three different shops I was unable to get this shade so opted to buy shade 8, (natural medium blonde) as I thought it would be pretty close.

I coloured my hair on Saturday and the result is more different than I thought it would be. It's darker and quite mousey on me, with no red tints that 8G would give me, and although it's not disastrous I'm not really happy with it. It's just not me.

If I could manage to get a 8G colour, would it be ok if I coloured my hair again today with it. I have a wedding to attend on Friday 10th November so wanted it to look good for that day. Does anyone have any advice. The helpline number for Nice 'n Easy no longer works.

I use 8g, I thought they just changed their numbers from 104 to 8g? If it were me, I'd condition my hair for a day or two and then redye it on Wednesday evening so it doesn't have that fresh dyed smell and look for the wedding. Just follow the instructions fo previously dyed hair otherwise your ends might be a bit crispy. Good luck!

As you're adding red to it I can't see a problem. If your hair is in poor condition then use a deep conditioning treatment first.

Superdrug have honey blonde in stock for next day delivery if that helps, and I find their normal delivery arrives next day without paying extra. On the Boots website you can check stock in your local store (unless it's a very small store).

Can I ask, are Nice n Easy colours pretty reliable/ idiot proof? I desperately need my colour doing but can't manage the hairdressers at the moment!

Thanks for your replies. 8G was previously 104, and 8 was 103A and the photo on the box looked very similar so that's why I thought it would be close, but I was obviously wrong.
I think I know where I can buy it from the shelf now, so setting off for a longer drive to get it today. My hair condition is quite good, so I am going to bite the bullet and colour it today if I can, and be prepared to give it plenty of intensive conditioning treatment if it needs it.

Bombardier - I have used Nice 'n Easy for years, and it really is pretty simple and I've not had a problem with it before, so I would happily recommend it. ( And this time was my own stupid fault anyway.) However - Clairol has just sold the brand to Coty, hence whey the helpline isn't working, so I'm not feeling so confident about it's continuation of supply in the future.
