Ds1's eyebrows. He's 12.

Ds1 (aged 12 1/2) has quite thick, ‘strong’ eyebrows.

They are wide, dark and grow upwards in parts like his grandfather’s.

I’ve noticed he is cutting them or shaping them somehow and it’s starting to look a bit haphazard.

Do you think I should take him to a beautician on a regular basis to get them shaped the way he would like them in order to stop his inexperienced hand making a mess of them?

Or should I leave him to it?

He’s not even a teenager and he’s obviously already self conscious even though he needn’t be. His eyebrows aren’t even that distinctive and he wears glasses which covers a lot of them up anyway.

I think it’s fine to tell him that you notice he’s cutting/shaping them, and would he like you to fine him a professional to show him how?

I would probably take him somewhere to get them sorted out. And perhaps they can explain how NOT to do it Grin

Get it done the once as maybe the rest has been to try and even up as opposed to wanting them trimmed?

Don’t take him to a beautician.

If he wants to, take him to a more traditional barber who will do them for him. DH gets his (relatively unruly) eyebrows done when he gets a trim and it’s all part of the service.

The boys where I am regularly have their brows threaded. I saw them lining up at the booth, thought they where waiting for girl friends etc. Asked someone out of curiosity and yep they get them threaded. It's a thing.
Take your son.

I’d try a bad bee as well.

Turkish barbers are amazing at make grooming if you have one near.

My son has similar browse and I took him to a beautician who shaped and tamed them beautifully and kept them looking 'manly' (for want of a better term) rather than over-preened.

However since hd moved out he has taken to trimming/ shaving them himself (despite my pleas not to!) and sometimes looks like he has two Hitler moustaches where his gorgeous brows used to be, so I'd advise against the diy route!
