Every winter I dream of this dress...

... but it never exists!

It should be:

Midi length

Knitted- soft wool ideally

Not ribbed

Polo necked

Long sleeves

No splits in the skirt bit

Straight rather than flared skirt

Has anyone seen one? No. I don't think you have.

Sounds like this Whistles Juliet dress but it’s only available in grey or navy.

How about this? Whistles zip front black knit dress

I such a dress one winter, except mine had short sleeves. It was from Zara. It turned out to be very unflattering - particularly if I had been sitting for any length of time. It went baggy in all the wrong places and I looked like a sack of potatoes in it.

I love this dress and it's close to your brief but sadly it's not a knot it's jersey - that might prevent the stretching that a PP referred to though

Knit not knot !

I don't like polo necks, but other than that I love this type of dress in winter. I have similar from Toast, next and even Sainsbury's TU (they have a polo neck one this year, but sadly not in black). The baggy effect mentioned by a PP shouldn't happen if it has some stretch - so ideally a wool blend is best.

acrylic but might do for now?

Forgotten I had posted this! Thanks all.

Typically, I LOVE the rick Owens one but no size 16 and eye-wateringly expensive sad

There are some good other suggestions, will check them out smile

OP I share your dream of this dress, as far as I can see, it’s pretty tricky to find! Bearing in mind you love ‘our dress’ I bought this one today and you might love it too! For the price it’s fabulous, so comfortable, flattering abs skims in all the right places!

This one is ribbed but otherwise pretty close
