Clothes for men. Help please!

DH lives in t-shirts, jeans and vans.

He’s mid 40s and has decided he wants to dress a bit smarter and has asked me to help him choose some clothes.

Money is a bit tight so we’ve not got much to spend but can get a few bits and put away for Christmas. I’m thinking some new well-fitted jeans, and a leather jacket (watching some on eBay) but I’m stumped for ideas.

So, what do trendy men wear? He’s really not a winkle-picker and skinnies type of guy.

Do places like Debenhams and John Lewis have a stylist service like they do for women? You don't have to buy anything, but could get some ideas.
