Is this salvageable with maybe leather conditioner and leather polish?

I would say that the wearing-away on the piping will still look just as rough with some leather conditioner because the finish has gone.

This restores the finish. Then possibly some kind of renovation cream. Saphir products are excellent ime.

Collonil (can buy from Amazon) do a colour restoring product. I use their waterproofing spray and gel on my leather goods, but haven't used the colour restorer though. They're recommended by Mulberry.
