Which toner do I need to ashen my hair?

My hair is mainly blond, but is too yellow for my liking. I use an ash blond dye on it (over the grey) but it is still too yellow. I don’t want to change the dye as I use a Daniel field one which isn’t harsh and has no bleach in it so it just colours the white hairs. I’ve tried all the purple shampoos and also some recommended other things, fudge purple hair stuff, platinum toning mousse. None of them do anything at all. I am tempted to put a grey dye over it but I realise this may not be the right thing to do. Any ideas?

Wella color charm toner T11 mixed with T 18. 20 developer. Gives an ashy clear wheat blond

Although that works over bleached hair. You said you just dyed it yellow blond? ?

I’ve just bought today, but not tried, a shampoo recommended to me by my hairdresser.
It’s Osmo Super Silver No Yellow Shampoo.

Dust bunny, it’s not bleached, it’s an ash blond dye on my white hair but it always comes out too warm. Would what you recommend not work in that situation?

I use ‘bleach london’ toner from Boots.

The wella toners are the best. You could also buy a good purple shampoo & conditioner- tones your hair every wash

Why don’t you go to a salon? They can tone/tint your hair, wouldn’t take long or be expensive. Would always recommend going to a salon for sorting out blonde hair while retaining the condition of your hair simultaneously

Tbh I don’t know , and all the info I’ve learned applies to blond hair that’s been bleached of all color first..I’d consult a good colorist. Don’t attempt to dye back grey either, could turn a very nasty color. I THINK a toner would work (provided your hair is light enough. A toner can only affect tone, not lighten ) but I’ve not done it on dyed hair

I've tried loads of purple toning shampoos. The best is Lloreal professional silver shampoo. You can buy from Amazon for about a tenner.

Leave it on a couple of minutes and voila! No more yellowing blonde hair!

It’s Osmo Super Silver No Yellow Shampoo

I use this, it really is amazing stuff, removes all traces of yellow and drastically reduced my visits to the salon. Stains everything it touches though so be careful with it.

I thought I'd found the holy grail of purple shampoos and yes, some of the ones mentioned above are pretty good but Fanola No More Yellow blows them all out of the water. Not the best smell and you need gloves as it stains like mad but it is without a doubt the best there is.
