My hairdresser has given me a mullet

Aaaargh I asked for pointy thinning layers. I've been growing out a short cut and finally got it past my shoulders. Now I've got a frigging mullet with really short layers. What can I do, really don't want to go shorter to sort it out...., waaah.

I had this happen to me once. Really short layers and then long long taily ends. I had to get several inches chopped off it and then wore it up for a few months until it had grown into some kind of shape to have cut into a proper style again. It was horrible :(

Can you get someone to take a photo of the cut from the back? Hard to advise otherwise. Sometimes new hair cuts look better when you wash/style it yourself

We do actually require a photo please

I have been growing out a short layered choppy style and accidentally ended with a sort of mullet too. I tong it into soft waves and I'm starting to fool myself that it actually looks ok.

I've washed and styled it myself just now. Looks v bad 😭. I can't work out how to edit my face out of my picture. Just imagine one of the Nolans circa 1981 and that's what I look like. On my way out now .

I had this once. I cried and my mum took me to her hairdresser to fix it. The only solution was to chop the back off.

Keep it until after Halloween. You can go as one of the kids from Stranger Things.

If you’re using an iPhone you can use markup to scribble or emoji your face out, or use paint or something?

I think we have all been there, I am feeling a bit old now if the mullet is back again, this means I have been alive for three rounds of the mullet.
I am sure something can be done, even if it's just drowning your tears in gin and wine.

Stick a plate over your face and take a selfie Smile

Never. Ever. Ask. For. Thinning.

I had this once only option was to get it all cut up into a bob.

Ah gawd, it's worse than ever now I've been out and come back. It's a wavy 80's mullet. I'm actually too ashamed to post a picture now.
What should I have asked for to get rid of blockiness? too bloody late now

Even my grunty teenage DS is actually speaking to me, trying to make me feel better about its hideousness.

None of us know who you are in rl.
We won't laugh at you, I promise.
If you post a pic we might be able to help, I ended up styling mine out with an Alice band and putting it behind my ears a bit. It didn't take long to grow out.

It's just long enough for me to tie into a small pony tail.
I don't think I can actually live with this hair cut ....

Or go for a pixie cut ......?

Can you stick the front up with Kirby grips until it's grown out?

Or a big hairband until it's grown a bit? Like this?
