A coat so beautiful, I'd feel embarrassed to be such an empress in it

I just might buy it

I've been looking at hobbs coats and ted baker coats but this is just another league. anybody have one? ARe they warm?

JesusTapdancingChrist Sun 22-Oct-17 21:03:10

The link goes to a 'your bag is empty' page for me, not a beautiful coat to be seen sad.

Try again!

skippy67 Sun 22-Oct-17 21:03:36

Link doesn't work.

Bombardier25966 Sun 22-Oct-17 21:12:49

Who the doozle goes out dressed like this?

Or there's the shapeless tarpaulin over bridesmaid's dress look ...

Bombardier25966 Sun 22-Oct-17 21:15:06

Hunchback of Notre Dame?

0ccamsRazor Sun 22-Oct-17 21:20:17

Am also shock at the emaciated models sad

Wh1stles Sun 22-Oct-17 21:24:45

Wh1stles Sun 22-Oct-17 21:26:05

calzone Sun 22-Oct-17 21:27:35

It's beautiful and would last you for years but it's £850!!!!!!

iknowimcoming Sun 22-Oct-17 21:27:50

Good god - no wonder those Burberry models all look depressed .........

Theconifers25 Sun 22-Oct-17 21:28:01

It's a bit mehhmmOP. Ok but a bit frumps. Doesn't do the thread title justice IMO. Different strokes I guess.

JesusTapdancingChrist Sun 22-Oct-17 21:29:31

It's absolutely beautiful OP 😍.

I don't have £850 to spend on a cost but it doesn't seem that crazy an amount to something so beautifully made that would last for years?..

tribpot Sun 22-Oct-17 21:29:32

I'm glad you've come back to confirm it's not one of the 1200 quid plastic coats, Wh1stles. I didn't want to shock that until you'd confirmed that wasn't what you were lusting after grin

That one looks good and a bit more worth the outlay.

Bombardier25966 Sun 22-Oct-17 21:30:39

That looks lovely done up Wh1stles, but undone is pretty much like a hundred other coats you'd get for a quarter of the price, and for a lady of a certain age. Good investment piece if you fit that category, it's pretty timeless.

DragonBone Sun 22-Oct-17 21:30:51

The model looks really pissed off

0ccamsRazor Sun 22-Oct-17 21:33:29

That coat is very lovely Op, my only thought against it would be the slightly short sleeves. But being tall the sleeve length on coats are always a bit tricky.

WorraLiberty Sun 22-Oct-17 21:35:28

The coat's ok, not sure I'd pay anything near that amount for it though, but it is quite nice.

I really can't get over the pissed off model grin

I'm sure I used to pull that face when my Mum made me put a coat on, so I felt the benefit grin

picklemepopcorn Sun 22-Oct-17 21:37:08

I don’t think it looks like £850 worth, though! And I second the concern about the short arms...

tigerdriverII Sun 22-Oct-17 21:38:34

It's a bit boring

Wh1stles Sun 22-Oct-17 21:39:27

Bombardier, link me to the similar coats for quarter the price!?!? brew

FormerlyFrikadela01 Sun 22-Oct-17 21:40:58

Oh I was expecting so much more. It's nice but seems very generic like I've seen similar a million times.

Wh1stles Sun 22-Oct-17 21:44:29

JesusTapDancingChrist, I know it's a lot but if you were about to spend in the region of #300 on a coat that was almost lovely but didn't set you alight and then you saw this and felt so excited........ it'd nearly be worth it?

Also, I get that some think it's boring but my taste is classic now i'm in my forites. I don't do patterns or flounces or frills. I don't have anything this expensive though

JessicaPeach Sun 22-Oct-17 21:49:19

I bought my husband a burberry mac about 4 years ago, it hasnt lasted well at all to be honest, not worth the money at all, I wouldnt buy another. Hope that makes you feel a bit better op!

just5morepeas Sun 22-Oct-17 21:51:13

it's nice apart from the sleeves. which everyone would think were accidentally too short/badly fitting and on me would be up to my elbows as i'm already tall.

but i love the cut and the colour.

Seeingadistance Sun 22-Oct-17 21:53:15

My attention was taken up by the miserable model with the dreadful posture!
