If you shop in uniqlo, what do you buy or recommend?
I'm 5'7, size 12-14 with a classic style ...

The merino jumpers and cardis and the silk-touch shirts. I also get all my work trousers from there. Also love my coatigan from there!

Heatech tops. I've got several long sleeved ones in different colours. Fantastic for layering and warmth.

I had my first order recently after hearing good things on here and was impressed.

I really like the merino jumpers (unfortunately the crew necks looked a bit severe with my ample chest but there are some boat neck ones at the moment too). The leggings trousers are great, as are the heat tech tops, lovely as an under layer.

I'm going to reorder a down vest to wear under my winter coat to make it a bit warmer - decided a smaller size would be better.

I also want to reorder a lounge wear set in a different size - really nice soft jersey.

Order a few sizes though as if you're used to the vanity sizing of many shops, you need to go up a size or two here.

The women's sizing measurements seems accurate though so look at the size guide and you'll be fine. The men's sizes are generous for tops, ordered DH some things and had to get everything in a smaller size.

Anyway, another vote for the merino boatneck, got lots of compliments for my navy one. The special collections are worth a look as well.

Genuinely most of my wardrobe is Uniqlo. Most days I'll wear it to work

I live in

  • heat tech / Supima cotton basic tops
  • silk touch easy care blouses (have em in about 6 different colours)
  • leggings trousers
  • smart style ankle length trousers
  • Merino wool sweaters
  • cashmere sweaters

Plus their boxer shorts and lounge pants for sleepwear

Adore uniqlo

I'm wondering about trying one of their lightweight down coats for a trip to New York in December. Not sure if the ultra lightweight one will be warm enough though or what size to buy - I'm a solid 12 and fairly short. I can't try on as there are no stores anywhere near me. Any advice from a regular before I order?

I've got the lightweight down parka and the longer stretch one. Love them both. For December, I'd be tempted by the ultra warm one with furry hood. The wind howls down the avenues in New York. It can be bright and sunny but bitterly cold. You get a tenner off if you sign up for their newsletter.I highly recommend their heattech layers for New York, too.

Uniqlo sizing, I think, runs small - check the actual measurement charts.

I'm a 5ft4 large 12 and wear an L in their supima tops but an M in their longer line stuff.

Wax I love their lightweight down coats but New York in december can be bitterly cold! You need a proper winter coat for it (plus hat, scarf, gloves). Their heat tech tops and leggings are ideal as base layers though

the jumpers are small IMO
I take a L or and XL and am a tit-free size 12 on top
However in coats from there I am an M, which I guess is about right for size 12 (albeit with a size 14 arse).

I have an ample bottom but uniqlo shorts pants in medium are fine. The cardigans are quite small I'm a 12 on top because of boobs and find large best.

Or go to the huge Uniqlo in New York on your first day and get stuff there. Near the Empire State Building.

What is the arm length like? I have long arms and the arms on most women's jumpers and cardigans are too short. The last couple of jumpers I bought were men's jumpers.

Are they mostly online or do they have stores to? I don't think I've ever seen one...
