Pretty or granny?

This isn't quite as bubblegum pink as it looks but do the stars and sequins and pearls on the neck make it a bit "granny trying to be fun"?
As an aside, why do even expensive ranges (this isn't) only put the decorations on the front? It can make things look cheap.

MayFayner Sat 21-Oct-17 16:03:33

It would be 100% granny on me, as I'm 41.

If 16yo DD wore it, it would probably look very cool.

LoadsaBlusher Sat 21-Oct-17 16:08:26

Totally depends on how it is styled

With rolled up jeans , roll up the sleeves a bit , big hop earrings and cool hi tops then could be funky

With black bootcut trousers and boots could be very frumpy

MagicFajita Sat 21-Oct-17 16:09:29

Looks like something Mary Berry would wear.

Madbengalmum Sat 21-Oct-17 16:09:44

No, granny, sorry

ZaraW Sat 21-Oct-17 16:23:35

It's granny.

Nanasueathome Sat 21-Oct-17 16:24:56

I’m 65 and I wouldn’t wear that
More suited to mid 80 year olds.....

Whisky2014 Sat 21-Oct-17 16:26:11

I'm 31 and think it would look good on me however, I don't like stars. Love the colour though!

IHaveBrilloHair Sat 21-Oct-17 16:28:55

Granny on me, unless I styled it very carefully and its not nice enough for me to bother doing that, I'm 39.

RhonaRugMuncherr Sat 21-Oct-17 16:29:30

My 70 year old nan would love it. She also adores all this embroidery stuff which is why I don't wear it(!)

Laska5772 Sat 21-Oct-17 16:30:49

Granny. I wouldn't wear it and I am a granny! grin

SierraFerrara Sat 21-Oct-17 16:32:20

Ok. Thank you all.
I WILL get it right at some point.

SierraFerrara Sat 21-Oct-17 16:35:58

Is this blue cardie also "granny" as well then? Now I'm doubting myself
I love the colour and it's a cardie to so more flexible than a jumper?

IHaveBrilloHair Sat 21-Oct-17 16:38:44

Step away from the cardi.
The jumper is marginally better, and its hideous.

MagicFajita Sat 21-Oct-17 16:41:18

The shape is nice , I have a few from Oasis in that style that I wear with dresses or skinnies. The beading around the neck is a bit Mary Berry though.

SierraFerrara Sat 21-Oct-17 16:42:40

Maybe I should just embrace my inner granny.

AnaViaSalamanca Sat 21-Oct-17 16:52:32

depends on your size. If you have big boobs it would look matronly.

both would be nice with leather leggings though.

cardoon Sat 21-Oct-17 16:56:19

The pink one is little girl, the cardigan granny

LaurieFairyCake Sat 21-Oct-17 17:01:21

The jumper is not granny if it’s worn by a young thing coolly. It would look matronly on giant titted old me!

ForeverTuesdayMorning Sat 21-Oct-17 18:19:34

Rest home chic. Sorry OP

Looserwoman Sat 21-Oct-17 18:22:24

I think the colour doesn't help.

lurkingfromhome Sat 21-Oct-17 18:24:43

They're both dreadful. The colours are hideous.l for one thing. You can definitely find better.

EdgarAllanPO Sat 21-Oct-17 18:27:50

Sierra needs an intervention.

Sorry op grin

PickAChew Sat 21-Oct-17 18:28:24

The pink top could go either way but the blue one is granny through and through.

EdgarAllanPO Sat 21-Oct-17 18:30:04

What style do you like?
There is so much beautiful knit wear at the moment it won't be too hard to find something that speaks to you.
