Lost Hermes Parcel Shop Receipt 😫

Grounddown17 · 19/10/2017 18:02

I returned two parcels at the beginning of the month. One was credited a few days later but the other still has not. However, I've gone and lost the bloody receipt! 🙀😫

It was for almost £300 worth of Miss Selfridge clothes, all of which I returned as what looks good on a fashion blogger didn't look so good on me!

I've contacted Hermes and they were no help. Miss Selfridge appear to have virtually nil customer service options. I finally got hold of somebody on Facebook but they just said wait 28 days. I just don't think I've ever had a shop return take that long before? I fear the Parcel is lost.

Has this happened to anybody before, and what happened? I'm think Hermes must have a record on their system of a Miss Selfridge Parcel having been scanned in at my local corner shop?! I can't imagine they got many on that particular day.

Have they asked for the receipt? Act dumb unless they do. Email them and ask them if the return has been processed and how long it is likely to take.
If they ask for your proof of postage, not sure what you can do. Did you pay for the postage?

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2017 18:11

I frequently email customer services [ for various shops] if a return is taking longer. I did it recently and got a message to say it had been processed and refunded that day.

Grounddown17 · 19/10/2017 18:14

No it was a free return label via Hermes Parcel shop. It's like collect plus.

You cannot email their customer service hence why I resorted to Facebook but they just say wait 28 days. Which I will do but I'm feeling very nervous that it must be lost.

Thats annoying. I would keep phoning them until you get through. I think they least they could do is check to see if it has been processed. Make sure you dont tell them you have lost your receipt as it will be easy for them just to say they haven't received the return.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2017 18:25

I would double check everywhere for the receipt tbh. Did you change your bag? Jacket etc or leave it in the car etc.

frenchfancy17 · 19/10/2017 18:27

I was told it can take 14 days to get there not 28. Have you chased it up with the shop?

Grounddown17 · 19/10/2017 18:30

I've even gone through the big bin outside it's nowhere 😭

I haven't asked in the shop yet. It's a local newsagent and they are pretty surly usually. I'm not even sure what they will be able to do as I'm sure they receive lots of parcels.

The 28 days is what Miss Selfridges say I need to allow for a return to be processed. So they can't or won't help until then. But I've never had a return take that long?!

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2017 18:33

When you contacted them, did they check if they have received it? Or were you just told to wait the days out?

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2017 18:34

They could at least check whether or not they have received your parcel and are yet to process it.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2017 18:36

If it is during a sale, they do say that sale time take longer. If the postage was paid by miss selfridge, then the contract with the return is with them so they should refund you and seek reimbursement from hermes. The problem is as you know, you don't have a receipt so you need to prove in some way that you posted it.

Grounddown17 · 19/10/2017 18:40

It wasn't a sale.

They won't look into it until 28 days have past.

Their customer service is non existent. I've just looked on Trust Pilot and all of the reviews are horrendous regarding customer service.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2017 18:43

That is awful.
If it makes you feel a little better, I have sent loads of parcels [ I sell on ebay] and never had any issues. It may just be taking longer.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 19/10/2017 18:43

Miss Selfridge has legendary bad service, sadly.

I’d reply to the customer service message on Facebook and ask if they can confirm receipt. They might not. I’d also expect that they’ll ask for the receipt before processing any refunds; so I’d search and then ask the shop if they can give you a copy so you are prepared.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2017 18:43

I would keep trying to phone them.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2017 18:47

I would email them about your parcel. Found this:

Having trouble tracking your order? We will check your order status and give you an update.

Email us at [email protected] with the date your order was placed, your reference number for each order, your full name, billing address and phone number.

SandyDenny · 19/10/2017 18:55

If the customer service is crap the administration of returns probably is too. Hopefully they are just very slow to process

ReeOkAh · 19/10/2017 19:15

If you know the time and date you left the parcel at the shop they may be able to find a reference number.
It's worth a try.

Grounddown17 · 19/10/2017 20:18

I will have to go and ask. They are not the friendliest!

Sandydenny that's a good point!

Weirdly, I dropped something at a parcel shop yesterday. I noticed that when I entered the tracking number on the receipt it showed me the status of every parcel that had been dealt with in that parcel shop in the past couple of weeks.
Soooo if you were to get the number of the parcel shop and remember the date and time you handed it in, you could track it.

Bombardier25966 · 19/10/2017 20:25

My local Hermes point can't track old receipts. They're friendly so I don't doubt them.

I hope it turns up. Sometimes things do, I had a John Lewis return that appeared six weeks later.

Were both parcels on the same receipt?

ilovecherries · 19/10/2017 20:48

No help to you now but I always take a photo of all dispatch receipts. On a more helpful note, did you pay by CC for the items? You might find you have insurance via that.

Oliack1417 · 19/10/2017 20:48

I just returned two parcels to office via collect plus, one took a few days to refund but the second took about 3 weeks - despite sending just one day apart. Hopefully yours is just delayed OP.
