Stylish presents for daughter

graziemille · 14/10/2017 18:10

My daughter lives in London and I'm overseas so we don't see each other too often. So I'm completely out of touch about what to buy her for Christmas.
So suggestions please from you lovely ladies.
She's 30, married, no children, blonde, size 10, 5'8'', keeps fit, has her own company., well groomed.
Any ideas? Lusted after products? Great accessories? Gorgeous make up?
What's on your wish list?

Although I wish I owned my own company. I will see if I can think of some more. What's your budget like ?

You're on the right lines, ladies.
Always get Jo M candles etc for her. And I'll get that lovely mask you just suggested.
She's getting Dior shoes as her main gift from me. Always gets a large Diptique candle too each year.
My budget is up to around £50 each item and I'd like to get a few ideas for her stocking.
Thanks

I’d opt for a Charlotte Tilbury face mask over the one another poster tagged from Harvey Nichols- CT does great sets which your daughter might like- basically an entire face of makeup in one bag, you can choose different “looks”- so worth having a look on their website.

I am your daughters age too- I’d love some cashmere loungewear, a gorgeous monogrammed leather Smythson diary, some Byredo perfume (stocked in Space NK- Rose of No Mans Land is the loveliest smelling one) and maybe some Maria Tash earrings from Liberty!

Oh just realised I way exceeded your £50 per item budget!

Charlotte Tilbury is still very do-able on that budget. I’d love some Cowshed hand wash and hand cream. John Lewis also have some gorgeous woollen throws I’d really like. And Zara do amazing big blanket type scarves at the moment with amazing prints (there is one in a red, pink, orange and black print which I’m desperate for). And then maybe some lovely PJ’s from White Company or M&S.... and some Ugg slippers.

I’ve basically just regurgitated my entire dream Christmas list!

Don't worry about exceeding the budget!! At all!
As long as I can find some gorgeous things that'll surprise her I'm happy.
Thanks everyone

Liberty giftcard? Their beauty hall is the best for harder to find brands e.g. P50

A year's Beauty Pie subscription, so she can choose from their (excellent) make up and skincare products as she needs to replace things. The brush set is good, several of their cosmetics are regular beauty editor picks, and their skin care products have been good for me (but I am much older). Not everything is wonderful but they claim it is made by top factories around the world as made for prestige brands. Nothing I have bought has been a fail so far. But some things I like better than others.

Urban Decay Naked.

My daughter likes Charlotte T for gifts - too expensive for her to buy generally.

Peter Thomas Roth does some lovely face masks especially the pumpkin enzyme one. Other things that are lovely and luxury are Sunday Riley Luna facial oil, Hourglass cosmetics are beautiful especially the rose gold palette which I think is limited edition, OUAI haircare do some lovely hair products especially the wave spray, Tom Ford lipsticks are beautiful and Chanel chance perfume is lovely.

My sister who is living the high life and just as you described but recently moved abroad has all the Dior / Chanel treats she needs and always, without fail , has a wish list that includes pyjamas and joggers from primark.

Why don't you pay for a manicurist to give her an at home mani pedi or treat her to them at a half decent salon like Sophie Gass

Agree with Tilbury make up too

Nars orgasm blush
Urban decay eye primer in ‘sin’
The original urban decay naked eye palate
Guerlain meterorites
^ universal make up cult products that suit most skin types. I wouldn’t buy skincare as many women have a routine they stick with and products they prefer.

I like perfume and would be chuffed if someone subscribed me to the annual Bloom perfumery subscription (monthly delivery of themed selections of niche perfume samples) or a VIP Perfume Society subscription. Or a Shay and Blue perfume travel set (niche British perfume house producing wearable, non-sickly sweet, modern scents)

White Company dressing gowns are the best - wash really well. Mine looks new and is 3 years old now

Your daughter is very lucky Smile

Agree with all above. How about the new Chanel Handcream shaped like a pebble.

Personally I don’t rate Charlotte Tilbury- overpriced and other make up brands much better (eg UD). Emperors new clothes based on Celebrity hype. A lot of mumsnetters on a recent thread said the same thing

I’m the same age as your daughter and sounds like we would like similar things.

Agree completely about CharlotteT, it’s decent quality but nowhere near as good as the hype / cost. Tom Ford is great in my experience.

You could get a key ring from an upmarket brand within your budget. My mum bought me one; I’d never have bothered spending a lot on a key ring myself but have it on my car keys and it makes me smile and think of her whenever I drive anywhere. Aspinal do a london icons collection which she might like as a Londoner but most of the ‘big brands’ do them.
Mum also always asked what perfume I’m using at the moment and if it’s one with a body care range will get me something from that.

Will be following this thread for inspiration for my Christmas list!!
