Where can I buy a coat like this?

Sort of a smart, modern duffel type thing? Something smart so I can wear it to meetings, but practical so it covers the head and bum in case of downpours/cold.

£150 is my budget but hit me up with anything you see anyway, I can always look for things in sales or second hand.

Where can I buy a coat like this?

Thanks Raving, I've had a look but they don't have anything at the mo.

George and Sainsbury's usually have some that are similar

New look have a similar zip up duffle coat, it has a fluffy hood and comes in a few colours but the grey one is gorgeous IMO

Silkfred have one just like that, brand is Vila

Thanks all, have looked at Only but they're too casual-looking, same with the Vila. Nothing suitable in the George and Sainsburys ranges.

Should have mentioned I'd rather spend more for a high wool % / smart look.

Maybe I should just give up and buy a nice wool coat and 7 hats to protect my head? But then I always just lose or forget them and end up getting drenched, hence why I'm fixated on a hood.

anon is it this one? I do like it and it's quite like one I have, but I think the fur trim and the length make it too casual.

Think it needs to be knee length and more business-y.

I'm looking for similar. I'll let you know if I come across anything.

Thanks allinclusive. I had a similar nice coat from Massimo Dutti a few years ago, maybe they may have something that would work for you?

Didn't think of them, thank you, I'll have a nosy.

Just a zip up the front will be a bit annoying.

What about this grey Zara one? 53% wool.

I'd like a zip up the front wool coat too OP. I saw a lovely one in Ted Baker but it has the ubiquitous fur around the hood. It's nice though.

So sick of fur around the collar/hood. It just takes away from the smartness. Instantly makes you look dressed down.

seen this OP
mango and esprit both come close to the type of coat I am after but nothing is just right.

I know it's slated on here but White Stuff had a nice hooded coat this week :

I like that one too but on another thread somebody said it was very thin and not warm.

Ooh, some lovely options here - none of them THE ONE, but nice coats all the same!

allinclusive I found this at Cos which is very nice - a bit too pared back for what I had in mind, but thought you might like it! Also I liked this from Weekday a lot but again not business-y enough for me.

I am considering buying this coat from Mango - no hood but fab neckline and very versatile. I am seriously considering seeing if a local seamstress could attach a subtle hood for me in a similar wool accent shade. I think it could be done tastefully in a very light grey or beige but I may be kidding myself... what do you think?

Do you think we've got enough members to start a similar movement to the 'We Want Plates' movement? 'We Want Hoods'? Grin

La Redoute I bought this last winter and was v pleased with it. The fur collar was a bit much for me and I took it off (it's removable anyway) . Not sure if it's as long as you were wanting. It's smart for work but also casual though.

Just seen the hood requirement, sorry Sad.

I agree finding something with a decent hood is hard. Most hoods on coats seem huge to me. They look ok as a detail when they're not being used but when you put them up they're enormous and cover your face. I gave up looking in the end and resigned myself to hats.

Maybe I'm being a bit dense but what's the point of a hood on a wool coat? It'll just get really wet if it rains - surely you would need a waterproof coat with hood for the rain, and an umbrella when wearing a wool coat?
