First of all apologies, I know there's been a lot of coat threads recently but I hope you can help anyway.

I'm looking for something I can wear for work and my days off. I have a couple of casual, waterproof target dry and Merrell coats so don't want anything like that. Problem is, I don't really know what I do want. I really like the Oliver Bonas coat that is (hopefully) attached but I don't know if it'll suit me (37, 5'5, size 12, hourglassish shape) and also don't know how much wear I'll get from it as not got any fastenings. I feel about 100, totally lost my way post children. Help me stylish ones.

Oh and budget, ideally under £100.

Its a lovely coat but it doesn't seem to have any buttons on the front. There are other similar styles that do. Try Mango. They have some beautiful unusual styles. Check that they have a lining though.

If you really like that coat, buy it. I am the same size as you - 12 and 5.5 as well. I would wear it happily and i am 49!

..but the lack of buttons would annoy me.

Thanks. I think it's the lack of buttons that's putting me off. I often leave my coat open but that doesn't mean I don't want the option to close it!

There's some nice ones in Mango, thanks for the recommmedation. Not shopped there for years. What's the sizing like?

Well its usually a medium for me. I have a couple of their non lined coats and they are both a medium. You can buy some of their things from House of Fraser or zalando.

It looks more like a 'coatigan' than a coat to me.

If you like it and suit it then buy it whatever age you are!
