Never bought this style boot before :

Where do they sell the best Chelsea boots. Do they hVe to be all leather? Or would part leather, synthetic lining do?

Secondly, how do you wear them? Do you wear them with chunky tights and a skirt or tucked undear trousers? Formal dress?

I've just bought some Fly Salv boots (£60 something on Amazon) and love them. Super comfy and the chunky sole makes them feel a bit trendier.

OMG are Chelsea boots back? That's a nostalia trip if ever there was one! In my youth, they were most commonly worn with ra-ra skirts. Grin

Dumbledoresgirl · 26/09/2017 12:22

nostalgia obviously. I looked and looked at that word and couldn't think how it was wrong Blush

TrueSojourner · 26/09/2017 12:51

Dumble - Yep! They’re back with a vengeance Grin.

I like the Clarks Taylor Shine boots. Super comfy and come in a few colours. This code BTS17 was working for 20% off at the weekend and think it runs till end of September if you want to try it.

Cakescakescakes · 26/09/2017 12:57

And I mostly wear them with opaque tights and skirts/dresses.

TrueSojourner · 26/09/2017 14:23

Ooo!Thanks for all these comments, keep them coming!

I wore them all last winter ! Superdry ones are nice and I got a great pair for day to day from Tesco !! I'm searching for some great ones this year . Joules are fab but too shiny for me . I prefer Matt tan with a lighter heel .

rightknockered · 26/09/2017 14:31

I basically live in them from September to April every year, them and other ankle boots.

HolgerDanske · 26/09/2017 14:36

Depends on budget but loads of places will have them.

Clarks, Joules, Dune, Office, Timberland plus pretty much every other brand going right up to designer with prices to match.

I'm itching to buy another pair but I already have two so I am holding off, for now.

LoadsaBlusher · 26/09/2017 14:41

Has anybody tried the DM Flora Chelsea boots ? Are they worth the spend

MarjorySunshineDust · 26/09/2017 19:24

Second the Clarks pair. So comfy!

Judydreamsofhorses · 26/09/2017 19:50

Staple for me - I have the Clarks ones linked above from a couple of years ago, another Clarks pair, and a more DM style pair from Ecco of all places. I wear them with skirts/dresses and ankle grazer jeans.

loadsablusher I had and sold the Flora boots. I just couldn't break them in and they absolutely crippled me. Mine were the oxblood colour and so beautiful too.

These are my Ecco ones - it's not a shop I ever go into but I was in with my mum and spied them. I swear, the leather is so soft and they are super-comfy. The sole is good for wet/frosty too. I am wide and small of foot, so finding comfy shoes is amazing!

FlyingSoloFlyingFree · 26/09/2017 21:36

Tu at Sainsburys - black or brown, real leather for £35ish and if they've got one of their 25% off promos even better.

bananafish81 · 26/09/2017 22:53

@Dumbledoresgirl they've been back for a few years - I absolutely live in them, wear boots to death so I end up buying a new pair pretty much every year as mine don't tend to last more than 1-2 years

I've been buying them for at least the last 3 years, easy. Totally flat classic style ones, ones with a slight heel - various different styles

Mine are from Dune and carvela

Dumbledoresgirl · 26/09/2017 22:58

Ha! Guess who hasn't been shoe shopping for the last 2/3 years?! I actually need a new pair of boots as my favourite ones have just worn through, so maybe I will look out for some Chelseas instead. Re-live my youth, eh? Now where can I buy a ra-ra skirt? Smile

Incidentally, I had an email from Mumsnet notifying me that you mentioned me by name, bananafish81. That's never happened before - is that a new thing here?

bananafish81 · 26/09/2017 23:04

@Dumbledoresgirl been around for a little while. If you @ someone it tags them properly - if you just bold someone it doesn't

&otherstories have some really lush Chelsea boots in this season also

TrueSojourner · 26/09/2017 23:09

Judy - b -b -b- but.....they’re £135! Shock

I just ordered some Chelsea boots from Joules and they are great. Really good quality and arrived so quickly too.
I don’t have super long slim legs (although I am also v pregnant!) and they’re still flattering on my more shapely calf. They were pricey but I had a 20% discount which made it a little less painful. They’re speckley on the side which makes them a big more edgy imo.
Don’t usually shop at joules (I’m 26 so not sure if I’m their target market?) but I was really impressed with my new boots!
