I'm after opinions on this coat. I'm looking for something waterproof, but smarting.

Othersideof40 Mon 25-Sep-17 11:44:47

Smart not smarting!!!

Owlettecatboy Mon 25-Sep-17 11:47:40

I think it's lovely!

Toffeelatteplease Mon 25-Sep-17 12:05:26

It's hideous and not my definition of smart

Othersideof40 Mon 25-Sep-17 12:11:06

😂😂😂 thanks for that!!!
I dont mean smart for going out pubs etc in. More like walks school runs!

OutToGetYou Mon 25-Sep-17 12:30:40

It's not smart, no. But it's OK, if you like that colour.

Userlavender Mon 25-Sep-17 12:32:26

Very very frumpy sorry - I would personally never wear this but depends on your personal style. There are 30 year olds on mn who go to top shop and then there are people waiting for the new collection at marks and spencer so really depends on your personal style

Othersideof40 Mon 25-Sep-17 12:32:48

I just dont want a 'navy' one everyone seems to be wearing navy at the moment.
I just want something that will keep me dry

catsarenice Mon 25-Sep-17 12:36:30

Sorry op but it looks like something my 68 year old mother would wear.

buggerthebotox Mon 25-Sep-17 12:37:26

I like it! Nice and bright. The photo probably doesn't do it justice. I think "frumpy" depends on what you wear it with.

Decent waterproof coats for the school run are like hen's teeth..

Othersideof40 Mon 25-Sep-17 12:42:33

Ive just looked everyone and cant see anything other than navy and black!
Id like a mustard colour one really but i can see any other really bright yellow and too bright isnt me

Toffeelatteplease Mon 25-Sep-17 12:45:53

If you like the mustard fisherman's coats then yes it is smarter and nicer than those.

Personally they are not for me though

PickAChew Mon 25-Sep-17 12:47:37

it's not that smart but it's cute and will certainly keep your arse dry on yucky days like today.

Not sure it's warm, mind.

Needalifeoverhaul Mon 25-Sep-17 12:47:42

Not keen OP. The colour combination is a bit fuddy duddy..sorry.

Floisme Mon 25-Sep-17 12:51:18

Will we ever stop defining people's style by their age on here?

I don't love it but then I've never seen a bad weather coat I did love, my own included. But we all need one - well we do if we live in the UK. I'm not keen on the red but that's because I have a totally irrational dislike of jauntily coloured raincoats.

Seasalt have some that look mustardy coloured here Not cheap but normally rated well for quality.

Othersideof40 Mon 25-Sep-17 12:52:42

Thanks everyone. Think ive been put of it now!! 😂 back to the drawing board, or just keep getting wet!

maxiflump1 Mon 25-Sep-17 13:00:13

OP If you like mustard have you checked out Seasalt? I have this coat in bright blue and it's so comfy (I don't care if it's frumpy it keeps me dry!)

Maudlinmaud Mon 25-Sep-17 13:05:51

Check out Isle Jacobsen, I was trying to replace mine for months and finally found a local stockist. They are rain and wind proof and ever so cosy.

Othersideof40 Mon 25-Sep-17 13:07:08

Thanks i will check them out later ☺

ASOS have some lovely coats in, I've just bought a blush mac smile

Othersideof40 Mon 25-Sep-17 13:09:06

Ooh could you send me a link to the blush one? Is it waterproof?

Tameagobairanois Mon 25-Sep-17 16:07:42

The second one that another poster linked is nicer with jeans. I think the one you posted is voluminous and childlike.

HippadoppaloppaGammeldag Mon 25-Sep-17 16:28:20

It's not what I'd class as "smart" but I love it!

RubbishMantra Mon 25-Sep-17 17:42:45

Uniqlo usually have waterproof coats in other colours than the standard black, khaki and navy.

Userlavender Mon 25-Sep-17 19:03:31

Rains do good coats. Asos have them.
