Scarves again..well, one! Can I get a few votes before I buy?

It's more than I can spend really but I'm desperate! I'd really appreciate opinions. For a lady in early 60s, short golden blonde hair, blue eyes, warm, fair complexion (like to put on a bit of false tan!) and wants something neutral, nothing old-fashioned, floral or spotty..and, no animal print! Nothing woolly! Needs to go with greys, pale pinks, black, navy etc. It needs to go with casual and dressy items.

Is it beautiful or hideous? Thanks, girls!

I like it. I'd wear it. I'm 29, your colour palette sounds like mine.

Lovely. Not sure where it's from but Oliver Bonas is a gold mine for that style of scarf.

It's nice, but I wouldn't personally wear it simply because, though I'm also blonde, I'm definitely a silver not a gold person.
I think you said you were buying it for your mother, so you'll know if she would find the (admittedly very subtle) gold a problem at all.

It's okay, but I don't love it. If it's too expensive, I'm sure you could find something equally nice for less.

It is beautiful but eye wateringly expensive!

Oliver Bonas is a good shout from a PP.

If you've got a couple of days, I got a lovely scarf from Studio Hop on not on the high street, admitedly not silk but with a little message from me printed on. Much cheaper and beautifully wrapped. The recipient was pleased with the personalisation.

Don't think it's £70 nice.

I really like this! Did you post the one with writing on before? I much prefer this one, it's really different and sounds like it would appeal more to her sense of style

For £70 is it silk?

Report
ShmooBooMoo · 21/09/2017 19:58

Yes, it's silk Sciurus83 and washable by hand. I've been looking at ones which are, to my eye, not as nice and are £45 for 100% polyester. So, I agree about the cost being too high, but I'm struggling with health issues and don't have the resources to shop around. Thanks, girls, for all your help and patience.
ps. Poly she tend to wear both gold and silver so I think (hope!) she'll like it :)

Oh, yes, Sciurus83 I did :) That was £45 and polyester. This is admittedly more expensive but it is silk and she won't be getting the little extras I normally get like chocs tries to justify to self so I think it's a better buy in the longrun. Also, this has a more extensive colour palette which she'll be able to marry with way more items in her wardrobe :)
Fingermoose Thanks for the ideas - I appreciate it! And, will bear in mind for Christmas! :)

I bought the top in this print at the weekend. It's absolutely gorgeous, so pleased with it despite the eye watering price tag.
