Rhinoplasty

I've wanted rhinoplasty since I was 8 I'm now 27.

I plan in getting it done before next August. I've had liquid rhinoplasty and that was terrible.

Does anyone have rhinoplasty stories? If you've had it done in Liverpool/Manchester is there anyone you wouldn't recommend.

I'm scared but I seriously hate my bisexual

Hi! I've had mine done. 9 years ago (!) On the south coast so I can't help with a recommendation of a surgeon. What do you want to know?

fertilitykate · 19/09/2017 16:11

A good friend of mine had hers done. It's wonky. Cost thousands and looks fucking daft.

redthunder123 · 19/09/2017 16:17

I had mine done about 6 years ago with transform

its horrific but honestly best thing I ever did

its not perfect but my confidence has increased 10000 percent

if I waited I would have gone to revitalize in turkey who did my boobs. also joint best thing I ever did. MYA wanted about 7k and said they couldn't guarantee results I wanted and wanted to do more work.

they did it for 2700 + my flight. put me in a villa for 7 days with a carer and a cook.

after my nose I never seen my surgeon again with transform apart from in the operation.

with revitalize in turkey I seen him every other day, could of been everyday if I wanted but was no need.

I would never get uk surgey again there is no care for what they do just sales and marketing and ad campaigns.

My mum also used them and had multiple ops and we recommend it 100 percent.

look on their website and speak to others who have used them before you say no way.

you can PM me if you want. I'm considering going to them for a revision but Im not sure when I can get the time of work as im self employed.

Are you happy with yours? What was your recovery like?

RedThunder I will definitely PM you because I was going to go for a consultation with transform next week but I might not now! 2700 is a bargain

honestly ive had so many uk consultations and they give a sales person first who has no idea what the surgeon can do, no idea if you need open or closed. she just says a bit of brief info.

you don't get the cost or details till app number 2 when you meet the surgeon then you meet the patient coordinator salesperson again and she adds it up.

Revitalize do UK consultations aswell so you can meet your surgeon in the uk and discuss your plan.

pm me any time if you want more info or just google them.

Hi
Had mine done last year after wanting it done for years and years.
Went for a consultation with the Harley medical group but as someone else has said I didn't like the fact you talk to a sales person - she was perfectly nice but didn't really have the knowledge to answer my questions and wasn't medically trained

Did a lot of research (there is a website called real self I think which is worth a look) and ended up getting in contact with a local private hospital which is part of the Spire group (not sure if they are nationwide). Really helpful, went for a mini consultation for free with the actual surgeon who I absolutely loved. Went to see him twice more before booking in for the procedure and he couldn't have been more accommodating. Cost £5k so not cheap and obviously not a decision to take lightly so would recommend going for as many consultations as you need to be certain.
Best thing I ever did!
Interesting to hear about the liquid rhinoplasty - was it completely not worth it then?

I'm really happy with mine. It made me feel much more confident and I felt my new nose fit my face much better. I went with the Nuffield; had a consultation with the surgeon I chose, I really liked him so I booked the surgery. My operation was quite complex in that I had a few things done; bump taken off, thickness reduced and the tip refined. I think it took about 4 hours. I had a night in hospital and went home the next day. Recovery wasn't too bad, I stayed on top of my painkillers! I had a black eye and a lot of swelling. Mostly my face felt hot and tight. I had my the bandages off and stitches out after about 4 days and I cried when I saw my face as I looked so puffy and awful! It took a good few months for the swelling to properly subside.

After 3 months it became apparent that a small bump had been left so I had a small revision surgery. This is very common with nose jobs and is one reason to pick somewhere not too far away. The 2nd surgery was super quick; I was asleep for about an hour and there was no downtime afterwards.

A nose job is much more complex then a boob job. Don't scrimp with the money, find a surgeon you like who specialises in noses and can show you examples of their work.

thequeensnose · 20/09/2017 13:02

Also the surgeon I went with was a ENT specialist so I felt in very safe hands

redthunder123 · 20/09/2017 13:49

I don't agree a nose is more complicated than a boob job, you could only need a small amount of work vs a large amount of work every case is different.

However the overall results/care/experience were far better than the uk.

I will be going to them for a revision as transform have botched my nose job initially.

Elite cosmetic surgery are also abroad however same price as uk and they are fantastic. They do a lot of Z lists however I think their work is fantastic. Its not about cost its about standard of work and after care for me.

Their website has a lot of photos.

Coconutspongexo · 20/09/2017 13:55

Thanks for your replies!

My main issue is that I have an open book fracture on my nose so obviously it isn't nice to look at and when light hits it, it can look bigger and even wonkier.

The liquid rhinoplasty was utter rubbish. It makes your nose look bigger which the 'Dr' assured me wouldn't be the case. It also broke down faster e.g. Within 3 months rather than the 12-18months! Finally it moved, which was scary. I still get Flare ups now on the bridge of my nose when I'm run down because of it.

I'm going to book a few consultations, I don't think sales people should be allowed to do these 'consultations' though it's not really fair. It's £150 for a consultation at my local spire but I've not read any good reviews about the Dr either so I'm not sure I'm willing to pay that just for a consultation for someone who has had poor reviews.

Wontbedoingthatanytimesoon · 21/09/2017 13:58

don't pay, even if you book mya or transform just to see the surgeon then find out if you need open closed, shaving rasping or whatever lingo they use and so you find out more of the procedure. at least they are free and no obligation. hosp group and transform also did a mock up photo of her nose what it would look like.

literally just go see them all see what they say and carry on researching.

defo check out real self and search any surgeons your concidering on there aswell
mya give good results however super expensive, sales staf are b*tches and think they are actually MYA of MYA.
