What do you wear with tall boots?

I just bought a gorgeous pair of knee high black boots with a high block heel. I love them! However, I am not really sure what I could wear them with.

So if you wear tall boots regularly, what do you wear them with? Skirts? Skinny jeans tucked in? Dresses? Please help!

Thanks Smile

Not skinny jeans tucked in. Unless maybe for a night out if they were the same colour.
I'd wear dress and thick tights in winter :)

I do the skinny jeans tucked in thing. I am, of course, very unfashionable.

I'd also wear them with dresses, or leggings and shorter dresses

Dress or skirt - but these need to be shortish so that there is gap between boot and skirt. Otherwise you look like you are wearing wellies. Skirts are always shorter than I'd feel comfortable in if wearing shoes. Plus opaque tights.

Skinnies tucked in. I don't really do dresses.

Jersey dress and thick tights or leggings for autumn.
Jeggings if it's not cold
If it is cold, wool thermals long johns, wool socks, fleece lined leggings, and a long down filled skirt. The latter probably not terribly stylish. Mind you if it is that cold it's thermal boots too...

Just for reference, these are the boots I bought (or at least they look very very similar).

Do you think they would be a no-no paired with black skinny jeans and a slouchy jumper?

Gosh Anat are you in Canada? That sounds toasty.

Sweden.

Oh my yes down filled skirts. Long, toasty...

Makes a huge difference. If you've got a down parka on and a gap between that and your boots and it's -30 then you're getting cold no matter how good the jacket is. Layers of wool and a ruddy great big coat, boots and a skirt are the way to go.

Note: it's not silly cold where I live (-30 is about as bad as it gets) but if we go up north to visit rellies it can be a tad nippy.

That'd look lovely OP.

It sounds fine to me OP, I have similar style boots and wear them tucked into skinny jeans a lot

Er -30 is plenty cold Anatidae.

If it gets to zero in the uk the whole country practically shuts down.

I love how you called up north "a tad nippy" compared to your southern softie -30 Grin

Thanks for the tips anatidae I now know what I'll be purchasing to wear for my kids 2 hour rugby practices next winter!

Merino wool thermals too. And wool socks. And thermally insulated boots.

I grew up in the UK and was perpetually bloody freezing. We never seem to have the right clothes for the weather. Here it's seen as insanity to go out without Proper Kit. Kids play out in all weathers so you do need it. It's not cheap but it lasts and it's worth every penny!
