I think it depends on cut and style.
Ive been looking at these m.emp.co.uk/art_330205/ and these m.emp.co.uk/art_356665/ for quite a while.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 15/07/2017 18:13

Always hated them but I saw a woman today wearing a plain black t shirt under aluminium fitting 3/4 length dungarees. She had red hair in a simple top knot and bright red lipstick.
God she looked great.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 15/07/2017 18:14

Slim not aluminium fgs!

CremeDeSudo · 15/07/2017 21:58

Love dungarees. I want some boyfriend style ones. Perhaps I should buy mens? Where were your OH's from OP?

WellErrr · 15/07/2017 21:59

Oooh I'd LOVE some dungarees.

But at 5'1 would I look like an overgrown toddler?

oliviafrombolivia · 15/07/2017 22:04

Glad you clarified not aluminium, my mind was boggling.

SukiTheDog · 15/07/2017 22:59

No. And again, NO.

CremeDeSudo · 23/07/2017 10:54

I ordered some from Amazon, they arrived yesterday. I love them Grin

DurhamDurham · 23/07/2017 10:59

Creme which ones did you get from Amazon? I'm not convinced I could carry them off but am willing to have a look Grin

CremeDeSudo · 23/07/2017 11:59

SS7 Women's Denim Dunngarees Jeans, Size UK 8 - 16 (UK - 8, Mid Wash Denim) <a class="break-all" href="//www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01B4UAI1K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_NfiDzb50KZN6H?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">//www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01B4UAI1K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_NfiDzb50KZN6H?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

CremeDeSudo · 23/07/2017 11:59

I went up a size Smile

Smellbellina · 23/07/2017 12:01

I really like the slim fitting ones, you need to be slim yourself though to pull it off I think.

DurhamDurham · 23/07/2017 12:35

Thanks Creme I like those!

Judydreamsofhorses · 23/07/2017 12:38

I love mine - I have fairly slim fitting black ones and tend to wear them with a blouse and brogues, or a stripy top and trainers. This is my third summer from them. I'm 5ft 6 and a size 10, so not particularly tall or thin.

museumum · 23/07/2017 12:40

Oh i want aluminium dungarees Grin

Seriously, if you've got longish sliming legs and they're slim fitting they're lovely.
Unfortunately I'm short and stocky so would look like a toddler Envy

Kursk · 23/07/2017 12:40

OH gets his from Carhartt

OneOfTheGrundys · 23/07/2017 14:51

I've got fitted ones from whistles that I live in. They flare into wide bottoms and I adore them.

CJCreggsGoldfish · 23/07/2017 14:53

I have some slim fitting black ones from New Look. I love them, so so comfy.

IHaveBrilloHair · 23/07/2017 15:03

I have shorts ones, currently wearing them with a tshirt and converse.

KoalaDownUnder · 23/07/2017 15:07

They look so comfortable in theory.

In practice, I can't imagine not looking like a farmer.

CashelGirl · 23/07/2017 15:15

Love them on other people however with my ample bosom and round belly I fear I would look like Humpty Dumpty. If you like them and they look good, why not rocks the 'ree's.

ForumUsername · 23/07/2017 15:33

I've been eyeing up different pairs for a couple of years but haven't taken the leap!
I think they work for all sharps and sizes as long as the person is confident in them!

I'm 14 weeks pregnant and am going to get a pair!
Just want to find a pair that I can wear now and will expand loads but are slim through the leg.....

I had a pair as a teenager and adored them!

Yes! I have the shorts ones and wear with a vest top underneath and one shoulder unbuttoned. For like shopping, going to the park / pool, grabbing a coffee, i.e. day to day stuff at the weekends. I live abroad in a hot climate so get plenty of wear out of summery clothes.

IdentifiesAsYoda · 23/07/2017 15:44

How old are you dunga-wearing people?

My figure is fine, but the thing is at my age (late 40s) you don't want people to gasp in surprise when you turn round because the face and body don't match. Not sure I can pull of 'quirky'

Would love some dungarees though

CremeDeSudo · 23/07/2017 15:50

I'm 35. I prefer the boyfriend style ones worn with a tight top underneath, turn ups and cons Wink
