Best natural shampoo/conditioner?

I've tried switching to using as many natural, organic products as possible. Happy with skin care and make up products but hair has been a bit more hit and miss!

I had Jason products first (though realise now they're not the purest anyway) and my hair got really dry. Since then I have been using Sukin and more recently A'kin and both are ok but I am just finding the shampoos a bit harsh.

Somewhere in between all of these I treated myself to John Masters Organics shampoo and conditioner and they were AMAZING but £££ so just wondering if anyone has any alternative recommendations?

Otherwise I might splash out on the John Masters Organics shampoo and stick to more budget friendly conditioner like the Sukin one...

I like the Avalon Organics shampoos and the Dr Organic shampoos. I like Jason for conditioner or Yes to Carrots.

Liz Earle shampoo is meant to be good although I don't think it's organic. I also like the sound of the Odylique one, sounds gentle. Think I'll try that next.

RibenaMonsoon · 28/06/2017 14:25

Lush American Cream conditioner is gorgeous. Also Lush BIG shampoo.

hecallsmebunny · 28/06/2017 15:02

Thanks all!

Have Odylique and Dr Organic on the might try list, hottub must look up Avalon Organics

Lush shampoos have SLS, Ribena but thanks for the suggestion

When you say natural, you you mean SLS and -cone free? There aren't that many. Google the Curly Girl method U.K. and see what you can find, as SLS and -cone free products are recommended for curly hair.

I use Palmers shampoo from Superdrug and Fructis conditioner in the green bottle from Poundland. In the past I've used Body Shop Rainforest and Naked from Boots (I think that's been discontinued though).

hecallsmebunny · 28/06/2017 16:39

I mean free from SLS, parabens, as many chemicals and synthetics as possible. There are actually loads out there now that are up to 99% natural, just not many in supermarkets, Boots, Superdrug etc. There are lots that have names and claims to make them sound more natural even though they aren't. I tend to shop online e.g. mypure.com for what I'm looking for. TK Maxx occasionally have bits. Tesco have started to stock Soaper Duper and so far I like their hand soap, shower Gel and body lotion but otherwise it's online for me, especially for skincare.

What skin care and makeup do u use? I'm on the hunt

TitaniasCloset · 28/06/2017 17:20

Aveda. All the way. I love Aveda, but it is expensive.

TheFallenMadonna · 28/06/2017 17:24

I get Faith in nature stuff from Ocado (or TKMaxx).

Enidblyton1 · 28/06/2017 17:30

I have tried lots, but can never find anything I like more than Aveda.

AwkwardSquad · 28/06/2017 19:46

I use Green People and I rate it, having tried some of the other brands mentioned, but it's in the same price range as the John Masters stuff, sadly. Lasts ages, though.

Auldspinster · 28/06/2017 19:51

I use Avalon Organics Lemon shampoo for clarifying.

Bubble2bubble · 28/06/2017 22:40

Faith in Nature is amazing for the price.

Moogoo is lovely and I find I never actually need the conditioner as the shampoo is so nice.

Original Sprout is my current fave - again, don't really need the conditioner though occasionally use their leave in conditioner.

musicmum75 · 29/06/2017 00:20

I love Liz Earle and Madara.

Jellyheadbang · 29/06/2017 01:03

Neal's Yard Rose shampoo and conditioner 100% no nasties , soothing and hydrating, smells amazing with no synthetic perfume . Ethical company, all ingredients sustainably sourced, multi award winning, organic, chemical free plus beautiful packaging.
Nyr also have a hair treatment rosemary and coconut oil which u can leave on overnight or on the beach etc, v good value.
Have a look on their site and read the reviews or contact me for more info x

I use the Body Sop Rainforest shampoo & conditioner after a recommend on here. It's SLS, parable & cruelty free.

pleasestopsnoring · 29/06/2017 11:44

I'm loving palmers coconut at the moment, it smells amazing. Since using is i've stopped with conditioner and my hairs looks really healthy.

Faith in nature for me too and you can't beat tkmaxx prices

Sometimes my scalp itches a bit and I don't know why

hecallsmebunny · 03/07/2017 11:32

Some great suggestions here, thanks all! Off to investigate...

mintmagnummm sorry, I was off the radar! I use Sukin skincare having tried a few different brands. I use pure rose hip oil + moisture restoring night cream at night and the standard facial moisturiser during the day. I also like the foaming facial cleanser. Usually buy from mypure.com who often send sample sachets so have tried madara stuff and it's nice but is expensive and not worth the difference for me (I have "normal" skin luckily, the odd spot once a month but fine besides!). Oh and they always have a choice of free gift if you spend over £30.

I mostly use Bare Minerals make up. Although I'm not overly impressed with the mascara for the price - the wand is really fat! I really like the Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream for summer, it's really light as a foundation and has spf30. I only need a tiny amount of moisturiser with it. I tried a few samples of Lily Lolo make up which is cheaper but although it was ok, it wasn't quite as good as BM
