I've got a few things lined up in my basket. The prices seem very reasonable but has any one ordered from here? What is the quality like?

Half my wardrobe is uniqlo

I'd say I wear something from uniqlo to work most days

No quality complaints from me. I live in their stuff

Floisme · 27/06/2017 07:46

It's very random. I've found their merino wool has worn well but their cashmere was the worst I've ever had, although I seem to be the only one on here who thinks so. I always feel I'm taking a punt when I buy there but I do keep going back. I like their collaborations too, especially when they go for lesser known but interesting designers rather than some celebrity.

BikeRunSki · 27/06/2017 07:52

What is the sizing like?
I'm a booby, curvy, tallish 14/16 with "chunky" legs and have always assumed they wouldn't fit me.

Floisme · 27/06/2017 08:01

I'm size 8-10 most places and I normally go for 'small' in their jumpers and Ts. The only trousers I've every bought from them was a collaboration and the sizing was all over the place, not so much length but waist and hips. I ended up with waist 26 which I've not been since I was about 18. (They're very nice though, I'm wearing them today Smile)

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 27/06/2017 08:15

I love their flannel shirts, airism and heatech tops and last years linen was great. This years spring/summer shirts are a bit shit. Merino cardigans are great too, I have numerous colors.

Trousers, not quite so keen but I'm a bit pear shaped and I find their trouser sizing a bit inconsistent and not quite right for me. Plus the lack of pockets in the ones I've brought has been an issue.

OccasionalNachos · 27/06/2017 08:18

Their topsare lovely. I'm a booby 14 & medium tops fit me snugly. Last year's Liberty prints were gorgeous, I have several tops from that range!

Never tried the trousers or much else. Always go for a visit when I am in London though. I love uniqlo.

BikeRunSki · 27/06/2017 08:25

Thanks Nachos that's useful to know.

ilovevenice · 27/06/2017 08:50

Love their jeans - they will hem them for you to the perfect length (though they do go between the legs and I'm a pretty average 10-12)

bananafish81 · 27/06/2017 08:54

I live in their

  • supima cotton basics as base layer tops
  • leggings trousers
  • Oxford shirts and non iron blouses
  • merino wool sweaters and cardigans
  • lounge wear as pyjamas

Currently wearing cropped trousers and a plain white crew neck top with trainers to work

I'm 5'8" and size 8. Fits perfectly
bananafish81 · 27/06/2017 08:58

Oh and heat tech!!

I have a pair of heat tech jeans I adore - they don't sell them by inner leg length but hem them in store for you. I just rolled them up as turn ups but you can get them tailored as suits you

Only1scoop · 27/06/2017 09:00

Quality is great
I've had some bargains

slothqueen · 27/06/2017 09:02

Great. I'll order some stuff.

I also love their tops and jumpers. I do find the trouser fit odd as others have said, and a few t-shirts are just too boxy/cropped.

MinesaPinot · 27/06/2017 09:46

Love Uniqlo. T-shirts are better quality than GAP IMO. Got my raincoat in their sale at the bargainous price of £25. Wore their wide-legged culotte jumpsuit to work yesterday and ordered the same one in a different colour as it was so comfortable. Also recently got a lovely sleeveless A-line dress which I wore to an event and I've never had so many people ask me where I got it.

I'm waiting for their autumn/winter stuff to come in as I need a knee-length padded coat this year, and I thought I'd have a look at theirs as they are usually quite lightweight.

zen1 · 27/06/2017 09:49

I also love their t-shirts and tops. They have some quite funky styles. I am a 14 and buy a medium or large depending on the cut (I don't like clingy stuff).

KanyeWesticle · 27/06/2017 09:50

This summer, I've been living in the floral maxi dress with the built-in bra. It's fab

WomblingThree · 27/06/2017 09:53

I've just ordered most of the Airism bra tops and a couple of Dry-Ex and Airsim bottoms to try, after sweating my arse off in the heat abroad last week.

I'm a very booby 14-16, and the XXL bra tops fit beautifully; better than the very expensive Bravissimo strappy tops actually. I ordered the trousers in an XL, but they were all massive, so I'm sending them back and ordering the L. In non-bra tops, the L fits fine.

The Airism fabric feels gorgeous and much more expensive than the £8-£10 per item I paid. The seams are all finished well. I only wear black, so it remains to be seen how well the colour stays after washing.

WomblingThree · 27/06/2017 09:55

@MinesaPinot I've had the knee length padded coat in the "stretch" fabric for 3 winters and it still looks brand new. It washes really well too.

chanie44 · 27/06/2017 10:43

I also live in Uniqlo clothing and pretty much everything I've bought from there has been good quality.

I love that they will take up jeans for free.

teta · 27/06/2017 10:55

I love the jersey summer jackets. After two years of scrunching the arms they now need replacing due to holes in the arms.
Tel me more about the Airism bras?
I'm a size 36d.
Do they give much support and are they comfortable?
The reason I'm asking is I hate the feel of the Heat tech material.

JessiCake · 27/06/2017 11:46

I love love LOVE Uniqlo

Mainly just because they seem to be literally the only high street store that uses a lot of cotton instead of polyester (looking at you, Gap) , their stuff washes well (also looking at you, Gap) and it's very very competitvely priced.

Much more stylish than similar-priced mid-range stores too. I mistakenly bought a stripey dress for about £45 from White Stuff last summer that I have always felt frumpy in. Bought a new one from Uniqlo for about £25 this summer and I feel about 20 years younger in it. Totally non-frumpy.

I love their leggings trousers and live in them. They do eventually sag after many many washes but they're so decently priced and last a pretty long time it doesn't matter. Again much longer-lasting than Gap and I like the fit of them even better than the bi-stretch (which are the only things I return to Gap for these days)

Nice plain T-shirts and camis.

Excellent Merino cardis, not the most thrilling items but I have three or four in various neutral colours and wear them all the time.

I haven't bought their cashmere so I don't know about that

I have a fab fab cotton navy lightweight summer trench that I have worn to death for the last two spring/summers.

Basically they get it right on style, quality, use of decent natural fabric and cost. I wear very few other brands these days.

Oh and I'm 40 and a size 12 if that helps, I need to be practically-dressed as I'm a working-from home mother but I hate to feel frumpy or saggy/baggy and honestly the only place I can guarantee will fit the bill is Uniqlo.

If you buy online what's the returns process like?

MinesaPinot · 27/06/2017 13:35

Brilliant, thanks WomblingThree

Can I also say that their online ordering is FAB. Ordered yesterday morning, and had an email yesterday afternoon to say that my order had been processed and was on its way. Last time I ordered I did Click and Collect, ordered on Friday and had text Saturday morning to say my order was ready to pick up from Bluewater. Excellent service.

WomblingThree · 27/06/2017 19:14

sowhatusernameisnttaken dead easy. There's a Hermes prepaid label in the bag.

teta I haven't got the actual bra, but I've got the bra sleeveless top, the bra crossback top and the bra camisole all in XXL. To me they feel supportive and very comfy. I have major problems with bras due to my disabilities, and I wish I'd discovered these years ago. I went out in one today with a pair of harems and a denim jacket and I felt perfectly adequately dressed.

Given that returns are so easy, just order some and try them 😁.
