Am off to Ascot this week and have bought a hat. The one I fell in love with was too expensive so I bought a compromise. But am worried that I have made a false economy and that it is too old for me and too conservative (I'm 42). I don't want to stand out from the crowd but I don't want to look like the queen either. It's almost identical to the one attached. Please be honest.
Flipping heck I've just sweated myself into and out of the whole ensemble in order to show DH. (It's v hot in my bedroom). Should have taken a photo. The whole thing together looked elegant rather than old fashioned I think.
